Don't be rude, Doug is just a regular employee, he doesn't run the company or write the code. Cut him some slack. He is jest trying to help and gather information. It's his job.

Hes not and Im not rude. Hes got fancy title and i mentioned it as it implies that he has superb knowledge. If he/she/it was employee I would be rude for sure, here its just joke. But since mentor didnt state "I dont know", I would like to know the solution for given problem

Yea u are commoners as other ppl here since bungie doesnt comunicate. U got ur title for some activity as mark of being useful. But I would still like to know your workaround. If you dont know, tell me pls, if u know, tell me pls.

But for users who have unlocked the decoder on at least one character, but didn't previously on another character will find they are locked out from focusing engrams at the Decoder. We have seen many reports of issues with the Decoder in the last couple of days and have spent quite a bit of time in these threads troubleshooting to determine if it is operator error or a glitch. At this point it is looking like a possible glitch or there is an unrelated trigger no one has figured out yet. We've taken a report from one player that provided extensive screenshots and have submitted it to Destiny Player Support for developer investigation. At this point I don't have any suggestions to try and fix it because it is looking more and more like it might possibly be a glitch.

I dont know if you can add this to reports, but this appeared 2nd day after releasing s15. on first day it was possible to finish it (but in a weird way).

I do not have any quests called the plan or bridge between worlds. This character is an alt and is less than a day and a half old. EDIT:corrected grammar.

Has this character acquired the Wayfinder's Voyage quest? The Umbral Decoder is part of seasons 13, 14 & 15. Which means as each new season was released the Decrypting the Darkness step can only be progressed by the current season's quest line. For Season of the Lost that quest is called Wayfinder's Voyage.

EDIT: I abandoned then readded the "Wayfinders Voyage" quest, and still get the "Sorry, come back later" message. I decrypted another engram and tried again, and still nothing. I am on the step telling me to wait till next reset to progress. I imagine it might work then, but it's a little frustrating in the meantime.

To clarify is the Umbral Decoder unlocked on your main character?

EDIT AGAIN: Also progress I did on the alt on the Revision 7.2.2 quest is not carrying over to my main. Usually these quests do, unless there has been a change this season.

On the character that can't focus, was it a recently created character that might have an incomplete New Light quest?

I'm not sure when that quest is considered complete but that tab has two quests - I am on step 4 of 5 for the "light reforged" crucible quest, and still have risk/reward open because I did it ages ago on a older character (now deleted.) The strange thing is the warlock I do have it working on is maybe a little older (Made last season to replace a character I wanted to change the appearance of) and He still has "On the Offensive (Step 2)", "Quid Pro Quo (Step 1)", and "Light Reforged (step 3). So technically other than "Risk Reward" not as far along. I'm gonna run risk reward now and report back on if that did it.

all 3 of my characters are beta characters so not new at all, and I'm having the same issues on my alts.

And heres answer. Could you somehow make it sticky or something so ppl could see that its impossible to focus engrams for ppl who started in s15?

I'm having the same issue. I even deleted an alt to see if the problem stuck and it does. Still can't pick up the quest.
