Don’t gambit me ok...... I know been toe shot was getting annoying in gambit ......
BUT.
It didn’t need to get left behind on the boss dps!
Even the leviathans breath is a better choice now.

Sleeper is honestly one of the saddest nerf histories in the game. It has never been the best at anything, but constantly ate shit for being user friendly and still good enough to not fall too far behind others using top options

1 ReplyEdited by cycofreak3: 10/19/2020 5:58:43 PMIf Bungie ever looked back at anything they nerfed and saw how bad it was, so many weapons and abilities would be better off now it's not funny. Sleeper being arguably the biggest victim. If they ever fix it, maybe it'll make this tedious as hell grind for the catalyst worthwhile in the end. I'm hating every second I spend working on this pile of garbage catalyst because they couldn't be bothered ever going back and making it more reasonable. But hey, the telesto catalyst literally just requires talking to can be and interacting with 1 thing and it's done... neat. What's sleeper need? A few thousand kills across 3 weapons, Oracle chest from the whisper mission despite it having nothing to do with that mission at all because reusing content is tight, oh and another 500 kills with this HEAVY WEAPON that has since been essentially murdered and left to rot because Bungie can't be bothered fixing half the things they screw with. If there's a problem, they just delete it.

1 ReplyAim assist nerf was a good nerf because of Gambit. The other nerf doesn't makes any sense. The only problem in gambit was the aim assist ( just like the queenbreaker) , not the damage. I wish they buff the damage to make it a viable weapon. Right now it's so bad... :/

1 ReplyI think the damage nerf came from the ability to ricochet it 40 times through a boss rather than Gambit. Gambit neutered its stickiness at range though. That's for sure.
-
3 RepliesThey should just undo the nerfs they did originally. I mean, who tf plays gambit ;)
-
Yes please
-
5 RepliesIt was nerfed because of crown not gambit, ricochets were neutered right before so ghalran wasn’t easier than he was
-
1 ReplyI think sleeper isnt bad. I outputs a lot of damage but not a lot of dps. I would love to see this beautiful weapon in the top tier pve activities.
-
8 RepliesCan we stop getting exotics that are meant for dealing big damage and only for dealing big damage... 😒

1 ReplyEdited by GMDeece7: 10/17/2020 7:52:04 AMIt needs more ammo. It used to hold 15 in reserves.I think. Gambit destroyed that. No surprise that the raid race would then cause it to be nerfed again on ricochet damage, instead of just disabled for worlds first... Like jotunn was. Instead of destroying a weapons usability in worlds first, just disable it. I would prefer that if your so worried about cheeses.

2 RepliesSleeper still one hit kills in Gambit, and I think in gambit it only got hit box nerf. Before that you could hip-fire guardian across the map, not anymore. But it is still OHK in gambit if you aim and hit. I agree it is not very useful in PvE. I have the catalyst and there is not enough ammo even with that. I understand not every gun can have same damage and be good on all activities, but sleeper is kind of lacking in all game modes, and yet it is much slower and harder to use than many other options.
-
My clan used Sleeper on Eater of Worlds and it worked pretty well, but i still wouldn't say no to a buff in non-guardian damage
-
1 ReplyI still remember the TWAB in which they announced they would buff all linear fusion rifle damage by 20% EXCEPT for sleeper.

28 RepliesEdited by RussellMania: 10/16/2020 3:06:24 PMI’ve already told you on this on another post, but I’ll say it again here because you’re spreading a false narrative. Sleeper Simulant has never received a damage nerf as a result of Gambit or PvP. The possibility of that doesn’t even make sense, as PvE and PvP have separate sandboxes (at least when it comes to damage) and Bungie would have to intentionally apply the same nerf to both. There’s no such thing as a damage nerf in one sandbox carrying over to the other. Sleeper Simulant received an AA nerf as a result of Gambit. This is literally the least harmful nerf to boss DPS that I can think of. You’re shooting at a stationary target. Sleeper has received several other nerfs that have gutted its efficacy in PvE: - base damage - charge time - ammo reserves - ricochet damage bonus All of these were PvE nerfs. Gambit didn’t ruin Sleeper. PvP didn’t ruin Sleeper. The endless cycle of PvE nerfs to DPS weapons did.
-
8 RepliesAgreed. Just a flat 30 or 40% damage buff
-
-
7 RepliesThe only thing that was nerfed in sleeper was it aim assist in gambit It’s ricochet damage was nerfed in a later sandbox update. It’s still strong.
-
1 ReplyIt didn’t get a damage nerf, it just got out DPSed by Grenade Launchers ,Snipers and now Guilliotine and Xenophage I think it needs a damage and magazine buff, and it will complete better with the current endgame meta
-
1 ReplyThey only nerfed like aim assist and ammo in gambit. Never got a damage nerf
-
3 RepliesOnly thing they nerfed was the ammo count and targeting I recall. Other than that, its still a safe weapon to use other than Whisper. Whisper is good and all, but I find so many players miss that one shot and ruin a whole damage phase because of that heavy reload.

23 RepliesEdited by Yosemite Sam: 10/16/2020 11:05:27 PMIsn't it going bye-bye when BL drops? Edit: My Bad, It's the quest that is being vaulted, not Sleeper. But for those that want to look at what is being vaulted, here's the link. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/49454

17 RepliesIts beam damage never got nerfed. Only the ricochet damage got nerfed in PvE. It is still the best damage weapon against SOTP boss.
