Is it wierd that I am really excited for beyond light, and enjoying the game.
Reading this form makes it think like pre or sing beyond light or playing the game is a crime.
Edit: I feel inclined to add more to this post, it’s okay to dislike things like the DCV or sunsetting or anything, it’s ok to step away from the game for a bit, but in some posts that gained 80+ upvotes it tells others to cancel there preorder which is insane to me.

I have taken pretty much 2 seasons off and have barely played this season. I’m looking forward to the beyond light that I preordered the base version because I’m not sure how the rest of it will go after the season.

Based on their performance we have seen for the last year, there is every reason to be skeptical of the new content being worthwhile or of high quality and every reason to think that it will be underwhelming and heavily re-use existing assets while failing to address core gameplay and quality of life issues that have been a problem for years.

The forums will make you feel that way but in other places you'll see that everyone else is just as excited for beyond light. Official forums for any game tend to be the most toxic.

These forums tend to be much more negative than other outlets. Reddit generally has a more positive outlook on the game. And no, it’s not weird, if you have fun playing it then good for you. I’m enjoying my time with it too and I plan on purchasing the next expansion. Even if it’s not perfect I know I’ll still have fun with friends. So make your own opinion and don’t let these forums dictate what you should think.

I'm cautious about this expansion. I don't want it to be another shadowkeep. Every time they try to be "innovative" they end up just making things worse. Look at armor 2.0, being able to stack multiples of the same mod. I hope they don't mess up the new subclass layout. I would've played it safe and go back to d1 style. I'm not to concerned about removing planets. I never really cared about mercury or io. Old content that is not relevant. The stasis subclass look like reskins. Especially the hunter and titan. The warlock has the unique subclass. Statis will probably break pvp. But its slowly turning into cod anyways so they really dont care about balance or the overall health of the sandbox. D2 pvp tired to be competive but failed miserably, still no deadicated servers in 2020, lol. Sunsetting isn't an excuse for not balancing the sandbox. Is it sad the only thing I'm excited for is the No Time To Explain. I loved strangers rifle in d1, the only issue was the 360 archtype. Now that adaptive pulses are 390, NTTE should be very good.

Like you said posts with 80+ upvotes are constantly yelling refund this refund that. This game has a playerbase in the millions. The games not in a terrible place rn and cant blame anyone for being optimistic that beyond light will be good

I guess I can relate to. I am excited for the new destination, story, subclasses and raid. Plus the cosmodrome reurnting is pretty cool. It’s stuff like DCV and sunsetting that is keeping me from getting as hyped as I was when Forsaken and Shadowkeep were announced.

I'm excited for Beyond light as well but a little worried about the campaign since Shadow keeps campaign was a disappointment to me because it didn't have as many story missions as I hoped it would.

I'm excited for PvE. Destiny's competitive modes have just gotten progressively worse as the years have gone by. I just wish they'd focus on PvE only at this point. They're just sad experiences fit only for Bright Dust grinding.

Personally, I don't think anyone should ever support a company that treats its gamers (customers) like dirt by repeatedly lying to and misleading them. I'd tell anyone who preordered Beyond Light, or the new Avenger's game, to cancel their order and not support the game until the toxic overly greedy and dehumanizing practices come to an end.

You will definitely regret pre-ordering an underwhelming, overpriced product from a soulless Corporation that will arbitrarily remove it within a year, whether you use it or not (and they will not refund you, of course, like a decent company would).
