Seriously, has a developer ever been as lazy as Bungie? No brand new enemies since the original games launch. How have we let them get away with this?

2 RepliesYou say the scorn and taken aren't new, but they literally have brand new abilities and change the feel of encounters. That being said I will be eager to see what new things are coming out whenever the Darkness actually comes out of the pyramids
-
9 RepliesYes and we already know what coming, so why make a post about it when they are LITERALLY doing what you want in September...
-
7 RepliesYour basicly saying, "We have had no new enemies since 2014, those new ones the added, yea..... they don't count there's been no new enemies"
-
Taken psions play drastically differently than regular psions, I go for taken psions way sooner for obvious reasons. I could go on for paragraphs about the gameplay differences there. But the taken add to Destiny's story, too. The lore and story of TTK is only rival'd by the scorn of forsaken, and speaking of which... Scorn come from fallen in the lore, but again, they play entirely different. If I didn't know about the lore there, I'd never guess the scorn were fallen. Scorn captains can either be really way more threatening or annoying than regular fallen, their origination and story is one of the most fascinating for the franchise and I'm really happy with how that story turned out. If these enemy types aren't enough for you, stop putting yourself through it.

Sorry to say but Scorn and Taken definitely count siva not so much

3 RepliesScorn? They were pretty new not sure what your smokin

3 RepliesStill trying to find the fallen that acts like a chieftain, never seen one of those assholes lock me down with a tether 🤔
-
2 RepliesScorn are technically fallen, but gameplay and visual wise they are completely different

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 6/27/2020 4:00:48 PMMaybe a bit. I just like to shoot aliens. At first I thought the four species was too confusing in D1. Who are fallen? Which are hive? Lol. Do these people have warp drive? Or hyper drive? Maybe other species are too far out or don't exist? Look how long it took for the Almighty to almost crash into the edz. How long does it take the Leviathan to eat nessus?

Upset? No it's a video game lol Slightly disappointed? Meh I guess.
-
Scorn, plus we have the darkness coming. Star wars had the same enemies over like 10 movies
-
1 ReplyWhat are the best ingredients on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Peanut butter, Jelly and Bread dont count.
-
New enemies that don't resemble other races? I'd love to see that
-
What else would they be able to come up? Halos had the same enemies since 2001, with an addition of Prometheans for 2 games, no one complains, warframe has 3 factions of enemies and the sentients, no one complains? Guess it's still a trend to hate on everything about destiny, just wondering, have you not gone to the tangled shore yet? There's these guys called the scorn, they're pretty different to everything we've seen

1 ReplyWhy do you want new enemy races? We already have a wildly fractured narrative that Bungie seems to be unable to consistently keep entwined, do you think introducing a brand new race which would have to be woven into that fractured narrative in a way that feels natural and makes sense would be a good thing for the game? We are getting a new race in September, one which has required 3 years of developing narrative to get to their in game introduction. Why is it you feel that Scorn, Taken and Siva don’t count though? I mean, they’re aesthetically similar but function totally different from a gameplay point of view (siva less so). Is it just an aesthetically different race you want? What would be the point in that? By the time you’d finish the campaign of their introduction, you’ll be as bored of their aesthetic as the rest of the races. Now, some new units of existing races would be definitely welcome.

1 ReplyIt’s this lack of Development that has driven the present direction for the game. Sunsetting is a lie only being implemented to have us regrind what we already had with a longer expiry date. Bringing D1 content to D2 as opposed to creating new content is easier than developing new content now isn’t it? The fact events like Iron Banner haven’t seen a significant loot upgrade in what 2 yrs? Be ready to reach for your wallet in September.

5 RepliesWhat have you contributed to the creation of new enemies? Yeah.. sit down

2 RepliesEdited by Dienox: 6/27/2020 2:01:38 PMIf anything I want life rather then factions.. give us some interesting creatures on these planets.. that are attacking or running away from us out of fear or for survival.. that would make exploration on planets more interesting.. Add a planet boss thats one of these creatures native to that planet, on a spawn timer that when killed drops a load of planetary materials and glimmer.

2 RepliesBoth the Taken and Scorn have different attacks, appearances, and stories to the races they came from. Why would you not count them when they are distinct in both gameplay and lore?
-
Scorn count imo but I do agree its embarrassing how little they've added to the game in all areas.
-
1 ReplySorry but the scorn count. I know they look like Fallen but they function much differently. I do agree in a sense, but i don’t know how frequent new races could be made to fit narratively speaking. Some different unit types of pre-existing races would be welcome though.

Edited by Admatazz: 6/26/2020 10:58:58 PM😂 what? Yeah I’m also mad we haven’t gotten any new raids. Oh, but King’s Fall, Wotm, leviathan, last wish, crown of sorrow, Garden of salvation, etc. doesn’t count.
Edit: My point is, the scorn, siva, taken should count. Also, you have to remember this is more than a video game, it’s a whole creative world, and so the creation of new enemies has to make sense lore-wise. Halo didn’t have any new species for a while, until the flood, then the covenant. I believe there is a new species coming w the darkness this fall.
4 RepliesEdited by TJ_Dot: 6/26/2020 11:31:11 PMI don't mind a lack of new races in the context of the world itself. I mean, in Halo it's always been the same Aliens and the Flood, the Prometheans were the first new race 11 years later and it had a mixed reception. There needs to be reason. Taken kinda count in being a twist of what you already know Splicers were a new Fallen faction, which are okay Scorn are straight-up mutated zombie Fallen But something completely new does require background, whatever the hell the Darkness is needs to truly be different. What matters more is depth. Which, the Taken, Splicers, and Scorn definitely added to what already existed. There just needs to be more.
