You can have your opinion of course, but just wanted to say they aren’t “taking” your weapons from you

Functionally they are. No ones going to waste limited weapon space on gear they can only reasonably take into patrols and strikes.
Functionally they are. Why should I go after a new sniper when there’s no way it can be better than revoker. Same with handcannons and spare rations. Shotguns and mindbenders. Fusions and erentil. Most meta weapons are 1-2 years old.

Why should I chase a new sniper if eventually it will be capped, thats just my time wasted.
Why should I chase a new sniper if eventually it will be capped, thats just my time wasted.
It gets capped after a year...

It still gets capped, think about it, you will grind for weapons to get even better weapons with those weapons and after each year you repeat the process, you never achieve that power fantasy or complete that build you grind for and all this because bungie is punishing its customers because they lack imagination

That doesn’t exist right now.

And you think "taking" away our loot is the best way to solve this
And you think "taking" away our loot is the best way to solve this
Nothing is getting taken away. Loot has a year long life span. Almost every mmo and loot game does something similar. You can’t add new loot forever and have a reason to grind for it. If you like your current weapons, you can still use them in 90% of activities.

Personally, I feel as if that is less of the weapons fault, and more the fault of our current meta. The meta doesn't support unique builds or play styles, it supports just one, and if you don't play that way, you're at a distinct disadvantage. While yes, capping the weapons does force players to get new ones, it also takes away a lot of worth from a weapon that people grinded for, a weapon that people really enjoy using. So that way, it's a double-edged sword. It forces diversity instead of allowing diversity to happen naturally with a good meta.

You read that, and that was your takeaway and comment? I'm reminded of Ghostbusters, in the words of the great Pete Venkmen, "Yes... it's true, this man has no dick." ...it's what I heard!

I'm an endgame player, and I normally get to the endgame fairly fast, so for me, they're essentially removing those weapons that I enjoy using.

Oh. I see
