Iron Lords, SIVA and the Vanguard
Ok so I saw a topic here about Who Is Your Favorite Iron Lord. I just sat here thinking Oh Crap cause I don't know any of this. If you'll pardon the pun I was a bit rusty (ha).
So I googled it and started to read. I hadn't realized the Iron Lords were at Six Fronts. So that would mean the Vanguard was around during the time that the Iron Lords went up against Rasputin for control of SIVA.
So....I have to ask....what did the Vanguard think of this? Do we have any Lore about it? Seems like if Saladin engaged in an all-out war there should be something.

The Fall of The Iron Lord's was a long time ago. Only 3 ( well technically 2) survived against Siva. Six Fronts happens many years later. Six Fronts and the SIVA Attack happened in 2 different time periods. The " 3 Brothers" scene was During Six Fronts. Saladin joined affter the Fall of the Iron Lord's. Even the Iron Temple is proof of the time difference. Yes Technically the Iron Lord's were at Six Fronts but it was Iron Lord Saladin, and WarLord Shaxx. Edit: my Favorite Iron Lord would be Felwinter.

Um dont you remember rise of iron in d1 there was a siva outbreak in a zone in the cosmodrone and you had to exterminate it by taking out the replication chamber there was a cutscene showcasing the iron lords death and some of the weapons in d1 as well as armour had some iron lord lore while in d2 it more over show cases the personality of each one of them

Saladin, he’s the only one we really got to know. Oh and a lorewise edition to SIVA-lovers, The crashed Expedition ship on Nessus may be home to the next SIVA Outbreak. There are scannables on Nessus that already hint at self-replicating technology (hint hint, SIVA). Rasputin and Osiris next season. Hopes up ladies and gentlemen.

Edited by frankhail306: 2/26/2020 7:19:17 AMTo be honest I like saladin and efferdieet. I saw a funny comic where efferdieet smashed through a wall and yeeted saladin as he's screaming about siva. Also outbreak can give saladin PTSD now that I think about it. Just imagine taking that thing to iron banner, he might iron BAN you. (I know stupid pun) Outbreak perfected in my opinion is one of the few exotics I generally am happy are back. I dont mind old exotics returning but the way d2 said our loot was destroyed kinda beats the purpose. At first I didnt care much for outbreak but when I got it I just fell in love with it again. It's a laser beam and so fun to use. The noise it makes after getting a headshot kill reminds me of the weapons from wrath of the machine. I loved that raid to death and that exotic pulse was great as well back then as it is now. But that's just my opinion about outbreak/siva and my two iron lord favorites.

2 RepliesEfrideet is still alive, and prob the most powerful remaining Iron Lord. But from what I remember from the lore is the Vanguard was not established yet or was in the least not near as prominent as it is now. I believe the raid took place when the "Lords" were still the main governing system of earth from the dark ages till the last city and the vanguard were created. They went around droping nukes on fellow humans acted like bandits or warlords. The Iron lords were a group of risen lords that banned together. Shaxx was a lord and is a lord from this old system.

Awhile ago, in a couch or easy chair far far away.... Gjallarhorn, when u brush your teeth u think Gjallarhorn, when u comb your hair, or made fish tacos by the fire, you think Gjallarhorn. Guardians they don’t know who we be ! Just like that DMX song.... they don’t know...... Actually your character if u played through D1 is an honorary Iron Lord.... sooo in actuality you are the most favorite character in D1 swords and myths Iron Banner.... only 1 that comes close is the girl in the trailer that stays and defends the fortified structure.

3 RepliesLord Saladin said during the Rise of Iron campaign that all records of SIVA, It’s capabilities and the Battle for Site-6 was scrubbed from vanguard archives (or at least stored externally given that Tyra reopens them in one of the grimoire cards. Best guess is that the Vanguard at the time, which most likely consisted of Fairwind, Saint and Osiris either didn’t know, didn’t care enough to ask or were completely aware of it all happening but chose to keep it under wraps in respect for Saladin.
