If trials is considered end game activity then light matters. There is no if, and, buts or maybe about it. Leveling up light is a key part of destiny experience.

Or you can take time to think about how its not a pve endgame activity and realize its a pvp engame activity. You already have iron banner with power level enabled.
-
Or we can maybe eventually have a PvP mode where how good you are at the game determines whether or not you win. Its already bad enough with the loads of zero skill required special weapons that they keep foisting upon the sandbox.
-
Levelling up used to be a key part of the destiny experience. Then it got bungied Only no lifers care about going beyond the soft cap of 970 and hitting anything higher with pinnacle gear And they only care because they think it makes them better than everybody else

-
It's what's killing the player count... Bounties are boring.
-
They changed how to level up and it sucks. They need to go back as to how it was. Thats the real issue, it is currently ridiculous resulting in players leaving as its boring and too repetitive. Totally agree with you on that point. I believe there has to be some difference in power between a guy playing 100hrs and a player who just got started.
-
I forgot how it was can you remind me... I'd be fine with needing to grind bounties 150 power away from cap so people that play NFs and raids hit cap first.
-
In previous trials the power level was capped. Everyone could reach the max light after some effort. But now with Seasonal Artifact there is no longer a cap. There are literally ppl with over 1000 power in the game already and it’s not even halfway through the season. It would be ridiculous to add this endgame activity and then put nolifers vs actual human persons. It should be all about skill and not how much free time you got to play games.
-
Im at around 960 if trials were to start I wouldn’t be able to kill them as hard as i tried. When they are 40 power levels above you golden gun cant 1 shot (i lowered my power in iron banner to 920 and couldnt even kill 960 players with a body shot golden gun)

Simply disable artifact power in pvp. Problem solved.
-
We are talking about modern day bungie. They wont do that
-
And thats why the game is sufferring. They are balancing content with cost/revenue probabilities and projections. Its very corporate now. Everyone thought that with activision gone it would be a better game with solid content. I told all my friends that that we will get less in small chunks. Bungie definitely proved me right. They are building a new ip so they cannot provide more but less. Forget D3 for at least 3 to 4 yrs at best. They do not have the staff and money for that. Notice no new refreshes for anything, thats all you need to know.

So was your OP sarcastic

Leveing up light is a key part of the pve experience. Pve players just try to force it into pvp cause they have no thumbs and need a cheap leg up. You dont need level advantages, you need to git gud xD

If we reserve light level to be solely about your armor light, I can’t argue. If you’re talking about artifact light, I don’t think you could be more wrong. Trials is supposed to be about measuring 1 thing: complete and utter PVP skill. Nothing else. With LL being theoretically unlimited and favoring people who have endless time to grind out every bounty Mars and Zavala have to offer, giving people with (hypothetically) far less PVP skill a huge advantage just because they can grind out unrelated-to-PVP content is an insult to an endgame PVP activity. “You get a 20% advantage because you ground out every bounty the drifter and Zavala has ever offered,” is a trash approach. This thing gets no traction if artifact light is included at all.

Leveling up light level USED to be a key part of the Destiny experience, but that’s no longer the case with the transition to a seasonal model. Most people don’t give a crap about it anymore especially since there are so few activities available to acquire pinnacle gear, and then you also have to hope RNG doesn’t screw you, which it does 99.9% of the time. With all that said, I agree with you that LL advantages should be enabled in Trials just like IB. And the only reason I feel that’s necessary is that the geniuses at Bungie decided to make this game F2P, so cheating is a HUGE issue in PvP - especially on PC. If they didn’t go this route, an alternative would be some sort of quest line to unlock Trials. Either way, they need to find a way to lock out these new light players from creating a quick account, logging in and making all sorts of problems for the rest of us.

Besides. This is a pc issue only. Pc is hacled to shit and a mess either way. It dont matter if he's 750 if he's invincible and invisible LMAO
