Yeah from other users here, lots are saying AMD and Destiny to not go well at the moment, poorly optimized

Unless there are specific characteristics of AMD CPUs that don't go well with what Destiny's doing, I wouldn't call Bungie out on that.

I mean from personal experience. I used to run D2 perfectly. As the game got way more bloated I noticed the game got funky. Not just me but even my friends with higher end Intel and NVIDIA pcs.

Yeah same, around areas like the nessus barge. You can literally watch CPU/GPU counters and see the load shift from the CPU to the GPU. Rendering a huge ship in addition to whatever's already there doesn't come for free lol. But the thing is, if you're a dev, your first job is to make the thing work. You worry about performance later if that's an issue. I'm not making an excuse for them or saying it's okay - it's just the unfortunate reality of limited resources and needing to push content out on a fixed schedule.

Edited by TAPSOMB0NG: 1/28/2020 6:48:35 AMi have a ryzen 1600x with a gtx1070 at high settings 60+ fps and have not had any issues with cpu useage. i do have my frames drop down to about 50 while doing altar of sorrows after a while, but it is still way better than console

OP has a very old CPU compared to your ryzen

I have the same issues with Intel. I got frame drops from constantly 120 to 5-10 sometimes. Plus the shuttering in PvP, not lag, just pure shuttering. And constant 100% CPU load. Something is off.

Also no issue here on Intel. If you look at the processes list in task manager, is destiny2.exe consuming most of the CPU time?

I got an Intel Core i3 and if lag was an energy source I'd be a Power Plant but for real, its not just AMD
