Normal raids in D1 were (in general) much easier than our current raids in D2. That’s not to say that I don’t think our current raids are pretty easy, but for a normal raid to appeal to casuals, it’d need to be a little easier (not Scourge tho, that’s fine). I more think hard modes are needed for a source of truly meaningful endgame rewards. Give us hard mode weapons with slight damage bonuses against the correlating enemy factions, or specific enemies in the raids (i.e. Berserker, Angelic, Might of Riven... is that its name?, the Taken Knight that drops the relic in LW, etc. ) Give us hard mode armor ornaments like D1. Supreme raid mods, cool shaders, emblems—all of it, just like D1. I think Bungie’s current raids are great normal modes but if there isn’t going to be a hard mode to amp up the rewards to 11, than they’re going to have to start satisfying those desires through these normal raids. GoS is probably the raid closest to having done this. I feel having a season dedicated mostly to just updating old raids, strikes, balance passes, quality of life, etc. (like Age of Triumph) would be much more valuable than another horde mode and a few exotic quests.

 • Personally I think raids are too easy in d2. In an lfg team we can beat last wish in under 1 hour.

 • I think that has more to do with the fact that Riven can be bypassed without doing any of the mechanics. If it weren’t for that, it’d be fine. It isn’t really any different than any other raid (D1 or D2). A team that knows what they’re doing should be able to blast through a raid in an hour or less. People don’t have time to sit there for hours upon hours for any more than their first completion or so. Raids aren’t too easy right now if we’re saying these are normal modes. Normal D1 raids were basically glorified strikes with incredibly simple (at least compared to now) mechanics. Now Bungie is trying to make Hard mode-esque encounters with multiple mechanics without having the same level of reward. I personally think the whole game is incredibly easy, but I’m aware enough to realize it’s ease is only apparent to me because of how much I play. Average players aren’t going to want to go through encounters like Crown of Sorrow’s last two or GoS’s final boss; they demand too much for being a normal mode. That’s not to say I think they should change them, but they shouldn’t close themselves off from having a simpler normal mode and then adding a hard mode in a later update. I honestly think the slightly easier normal mode from D1 accompanied by the hard mode was a much more balanced system for all players as opposed to them trying to find some sort of middle-ground normal mode.
