How many vets are there of d1?
Ive been playing destiny 2 but my interest is really starting to fall off. Im thinking of going back to d1 and completing all the quests that dont require a team. What are your thoughts on destiny 2 so far?
Edit: nice to see so many of you. I have another question for you all to answer. How would you feel if they merged d1 and d2 to make 1 evolving world like they said in d2 shadowkeep vidoc?

Never did get a mythoclast. Merging would be cool but awful at the same time because of how different the gunplay is (which was much better in d1, imo. The armor system was too.) All the friends I had quit too so 🤷🏻♂️

D1 Beta player, Overall I feel D2 is better then D1 in its current state but there’s still a few things that got left behind in D1 that should be in D2. I don’t play as much as I did in D1 but that’s mainly because I have other games to play where’s is I was only playing Destiny 1 for months at a time

D1 Beta. Never played a game like it before, always played sports games and CoD. I fell in love with it, have created several new accounts just to experience the story again and go through the grind. Miss the raids and would love to run them again if anyone is down to do so on PS4

1 ReplyD1 Alpha player. D2 lacks a soul. Gunplay is still good (but guns in general are not). Raids are convoluted in D2, they at least made sense in D1. Crucible has always been a mess, but it's a next level mess now. I am aware there are other factors that could make me like D1 more. It was the first of Its kind, so it was all new. I was a little younger and had more close friends to play with. Even so, D1 just...felt better. I knew WHY I was doing VoG. I knew WHY I was killing Oryx. QoL changes in D2 are great, but the game is just an endless loop of nothing now. Also not a fan of the games as a service model. Trace rifles are cool, though😎

Faster gameplay better super and exotic combos Ledge Grab more things to do shader system is better Armor 2.0 and the multitude of another QoL updates that make it better that I'm forgetting All of these things are what makes D2 better imo. Oh and did I forget to mention Ledge Grab?!?!

Was there through D1 much to the detriment of my wallet. Thanks Activision. 🤬 I'm enjoying D2 so far but I only bought the base game this time until Shadow keep dropped, Alot of the issues from D1 are still there. I feel that the story elements are better for D2 and easier to follow (for a start you can read lore in game!) And the whole seasonal thing is actually much closer to what bungie wanted at the release of destiny 1. I feel like bungie are kinda still finding their feet with destiny now that they have the reigns, I have the years pass so I'll happily give them that time to see where they go and if they can keep me interested for that long. It can be done, dust514, neverwinter and Warframe have all managed it so far.

D1 beta, moon mission and all. Been through all of it as it has evolved and will see it to the end... does not mean I have loved it all, but I’m taking my guardian to the end of this thing, whatever it may be. Cheers !

Been here since D1 and in my opinion D2 is only better by way of connectivity not being constantly kicked by error codes is nice. Everything else is kinda lack luster. Wide spread hacking, glitches, Titan infinite supers and over done buffs, the inability to decide how their sandbox works, etc etc etc. while some issues are the same seen in D1 there are too many new ones for me to say that this is done by a team that knows their shit.

XB360 D1 beta player. Played till rise of iron. Got an XB One and downloaded the F2P version "New Light". Will not spend any real $$$. All kinds of busy work. Lots to do but is it all worth doing? DLCs not as good as the D1. My favorite activities are Escalation Protocol for the Ikelos gear and weapons. Sleeper nodes for the Braytech gear and weapons. Sleeper simulant, again? why? All the d1 exotics brought back! why? D2 is a grindier game than D1. Like the Lost Prophosy weapons. Play IB cause I like the gear.

Bought the game at launch really got into it during The Dark Below and my first raid was Crota.

Here since D1 launch day, still miss the fun of old raids - dark below with Crota and all the broken shenanigans, especially taking down Oryx in TTK. Stopped playing D2 after Warmind came out but just got back into it for the Season of Dawn and Shadowkeep stuff - really enjoying the game again now, so glad I came back Both have their merits, both are good games with lots of work put into them, even if it’s easy to focus on the flaws - especially in the sequel. Gotta be careful to appreciate the good of D2 without being automatically against it due to nostalgia (I have that issue myself sometimes I’ll admit) Gotta thank Bungie for one of my favourite games and franchises since I started playing video games with Pokemon Diamond on the DS!

I was alpha beta and I did my one and only midnight launch for a game with D1. Stopped playing D2 after a few months. Just came back in December. But now I'm married with kids and my play time is very limited. I'm still on the shadowkeep campaign. But I am absolutely loving D2 now!

4 RepliesIn D1, Bungie went balls out with the amazing weapons and powers. I think they didn't expect Destiny to be popular. Now in D2 it's like how can we top D1. I still believe D2 would have been a better D1. And D1 should have been the sequel.

D1 alpha beta player i loved d1 because it felt unique ive enjoyed parts of d2 but couldn't bring myself to to go any further so stopped before shadowkeep. I still boot up d1 for fun.
