Virtual Machine?

Windows 10 regularly BSOD's me, and all fixes I've had suggested online have failed to help the matter. So I'm moving to Ubuntu. Unfortunately, D2 isn't supported on Ubuntu, and running it with something like WINE will get me banned, and looking up Proton shows the game simply won't boot with that. My only solution I can see is to set up a W10 virtual machine and use it for Destiny 2. Is there any risk of being banned for using a VM to play?

  • Yes.. there is a HIGH risk of ban.
Player Behavior that can lead to Account Bans or Restrictions Bungie regards some behavior to be in breach of the license agreement that governs Destiny, and therefore potentially subject to access restrictions or bans. This behavior includes, but is not limited to: Connecting to the Destiny game service with any of the following: ~ Modified operating system files including emulators and virtual machines
Bungie.net/ban

    • Have you tried doing an in-line upgrade? I think that's what it's called where you reinstall Windows 10 while keeping your personal files.

    • Yes. Your best bet is to figure out how to get Windows 10 working.
