So this worked for me initially but, after rebooting my PC, I'm back to the same problem.

    Don't change the settings after you did all this. If you want to change some settings again you have to do something with the files again. Make sure all 3 files have the correct file extention on them as described in the picture posted in my walkthrough. Also make sure all 3 files have the exact same settings. <cvar name="force_auto_detect" value="8" /> to <cvar name="force_auto_detect" value="0" /> and <cvar name="mouse_smoothing_mode" value="8" /> to <cvar name="mouse_smoothing_mode" value="0" /> These 2 settings are very important for it to not revert back to default and then check if it's set to read-only on all 3 files.
