Destiny 3 should take place in the past ‘Golden Age’
D3 should have players use a Vex time gate to go back to the Golden Age and prevent the collapse from ever happening to begin with.
Players will play in a living world of the Golden Age that players will have to join factions if they believe the Traveler is a force for Good, a force for Evil, a power to be conquered, or a god-like creator of resources. This game will need next generation hardware and won’t be released for another 3 years or so.
‘Destiny: Golden Age’ will be a living world that never ends since it’s about preventing the Collapse from occurring which is a never ending battle.

You're asking everyone to give up their lives and allow everyone they know and love to die so that they can fight the Darkness in the past instead of in the future. It's stupid and invalidates everything. We have no personal connection to the pre-Collapse world. The argument that the Traveler is evil is also stupid. It's not purely good, but it is in no way evil. Just because the Darkness views universal genocide as the inevitable end state of the universe and as such views it's actions as just does not mean you get to sweep that under the rug. Your very statement of preventing the Collapse being a never ending battle is also flawed. The very idea that we can survive a war of attrition with the Darkness itself is absurd. The scenario you have set up would require an end state. Not only that, you eliminate one of the four proper enemy races as any sort of threat. Let's also not bring up the fact that time travelling to before the earliest events we know of basically invalidates everything in Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 that we've done and throws out 90% of the Lore we have. 1 ReplyMost likely not getting D3 for a very long time or ever... If rumors are true we are getting 5 more years of Destiny 2 but with numerous updates. “An ever evolving world”- hard to do that if you make an entire new game.

This is why I want D2 to spend the next few years revisiting D1 locations in DLC that have become even more war torn than before. When D3 Golden Age comes out in 2022 we get to see all the areas in D1/D2 in their Golden Age Prime and we fight to keep them that way. D3 would be more RPG like and have way more characters to interact with.

I think that would make more sense as a standalone simulation game. Use the the art style to make a VR experience. Imagine watching the Exodus Black taking off, and consoling the character that missed the ship (from Sturm and Drang.) Then taking a stroll on Mercury, or watching Titan arcology in it's full glory. I don't think there would be a whole lot of shooting in the main areas, just the less-interesting edges of society.

I think Destiny 3 should either be an add on to D2 or it should be a separate game but can have our characters ported onto it. If our characters can be ported onto D3 I think they should be set to starting light level in that game. I would also like to see all the weapons and armor from D1 and D2 ported onto it as well as the new offerings that will hopefully come with the game itself. As for the storyline I don't think time travel is the way they should go. I think they should end D2 with us losing. Plus that's basically a built in piece of marketing just like the end of Infinity War. And pick up the story with D3 after the loss.

This sounds like a terrible concept as soon as you apply what we know of 'time travel' in Destiny from the Exo Stranger.

Fhat's not how time travel works. You would go back in time and prevent THAT collapse from happening but there's still your original city waiting for the Pyramids. Two, that plot is redundant because we are actively trying to prevent a collapse as we speak.
