Just going through the motions. Destiny has its place just like food and work

9 RepliesI love Destiny as a world with characters I care about and a lore that intrigues me. I've grown to dislike Destiny, however, as a game. I've gone from playing it to putting up with it to no longer playing it. It's frustrating because I want to play it and I want to enjoy it. I have no fear of missing out on "stuff", but I am bummed to be missing out on the continuing stories. This game is no longer a good one as far as I'm concerned. It's a glorified mobile game that is still full priced. It makes me sad. If the format returned to the way the game operated by the end of D1's life cycle I'd come back in a heartbeat.

2 RepliesYes. I greatly enjoy pretty much every aspect. Although some things can be annoying (like the meta or comp.), these things are pretty easy to work around. I think that Bungie has made a lot of good changes and will continue to do so.
-
I like the idea of it. Would probably hate it if I didn’t have friends/tight clanmates

i personally enjoy it for the most part, the meta is annoying though edit: thank you all for being very calm and respectful with your opinions, didnt expect this to blow up like it did.
I love Destiny from D1/D2 from launch to now cause of it’s Gunplay and stuff. But with the future of Destiny, it’s turning me off of the franchise. With Bungie moving toward Temporary Content, FOMO Tactics, Pay to Win etc. I simple cannot support these decisions. I’m hoping Bungie fails at their future plans so that they move to a more consumer friendly models so I can return to the series. I may get Shadowkeep alone without the Annual Pass if what people say is true and they won’t remove my Content after the Season of Shadowkeep.

I've said it before but its the only game I think about when I'm playing other games. It's weird but I do feel a calm when I'm playing it, even if the tasks are boring now. That's why I can't wait until Shadowkeep drops. I'll just have to manage my hours between it and BL3. I'm gunna want to play Gears too but not sure when it comes out.

i like the music the characters and the story just...not the farming XD
-
I would say the very vocal minority of players just view -blam!- and being a troll as their real hobby. Theres a couple things about Destiny that I hate but overall love the game and Bungie
-
Yup. Have since D1. Still do. There have been some rough patches, but it's still fun. I'm stoked for Shadowkeep. IMHO Destiny 2 is currently in a better place than D1, there's just a few QoL things they could still bring forward from D1 and it'd be that much better. I played D1 not that long ago before I uninstalled it from my hard drive to free up space, and I gotta say... While the nostalgia is strong, and I had a little fun (Heroic Strikes ftw, seeing all my cool full armor sets), there really wasn't anything there anymore that made me think "Gee, I wish we could go back to the way D1 was."
-
Yes. Been a Bungie fan since Halo:Combat Evolved.
-
I've been playing since D1 y1 and really enjoyed playing. D2 at launch of absolute garbage got better with forsaken and for a time looked like it was heading in the right direction. (Apart from crucible which has been a hot mess for quite some time.) I didn't Iike the idea of season pass so never got that and now they are doing it again but is made worse with a battle pass that isn't just only cosmetic so kinda feels like you are being pushed to buy in order not to fall behind. I never bothered with apex or any other game that uses this kind of system; I might be old school but if my buy content for a game I expect to keep it, not have it taken away at the end of the season. It is a real shame to see a game that had so much potential just become another fornite.
-
PVE yes PVP no, PVPVE neutral, so I would be happy if they stop trying to get me into crucible. I still don't like how power works in this game, 1 okt we get infinite useless power.
-
no i dont the game became a china farming shit-blam!-, where u get a facepalm as reward while u are forced to play the totaly broken pvp crapp for some weekly/daily missions... so no i dont like this game anymore, and i wont even think about to waist any money on shadowkeep
-
I no think borderland 3 right for me Can’t wait Shadowkeep and season pass
-
I think I’m more addicted to the grind . Been playing way less because not so addicting anymore. So I guess I don’t like it as much as I thought I did
-
Yeah, I do. It’s like crack- I know I could do better, but I just keep coming back.
-
I enjoy the shooting. I think the grind is pretty much always tedious, not because of the grind itself, but rather because it lacks synergy.
-
Edited by LV223: 8/31/2019 2:22:01 PMI love it and it’s potential. One of my biggest gripes is the feeling of being like a lab rat in their never ending experiments. RoI was nearly perfect for me as a casual player and yet they keep screwing up. I’m never getting the replay value of old content because these nimrods at Bungo HQ won’t/refuse to add a difficulty slider to old content. Destiny is almost always like an amazing first class buffet, yet some some zombie has dripped demon -blam!-(bad/lazy devs) all over the food
-
Yes I do. While some have issues with the new direction next season, I do not. It sounds awesome.
-
Yes, Destiny has been my favorite game of all time and still is.
-
I like the lore and stories, and the gameplay, the activities are all for the most part pretty great too.

1 ReplyEdited by Dredgen Jäger: 8/31/2019 11:26:05 AMCompetitive is pretty toxic because the kids that wanna do recovs is ruining the experience for those who want to actually get things themselves. Other than that it’s a pretty good game, the P2P connection network is pretty lazy though, some nerfing DEFINITELY needs to be done. Some people in the community can be horrendously toxic.
-
Yes but microtransactions and timed content I do not. It can't reach like a 10/10 rating. But probably like an 8. Definitely has fun moments.
-
Lore wise yes, gameplay & content wise not so much currently. Just a place holder until other games come out. Just waiting for gears 5, borderlands, and iceborn. Cod in November i think?
-
Do I like destiny? Yes. Do I like the company behind it and how they are slowly turning it into your average f2p game with tons of microtransactions? -blam!- no.
