We don't want a season pass Bungie. Or at least I don't.
So for context: as I write this many of you might not have read the TWAB yet, but it includes them showing a Fortnite esq or any other F2P games season pass mechanic.
I don't want a mechanic in this game that allows players to buy essentially free exotics (yes that's a reward.) i don't care that this option appears late in the season either. I get you guys need to make money, but actual guns being put in there is making me nervous, and I've defended you guys many times when everyone else has immediately jumped on the Bungie bad wagon.
Including this with the DLC itself doesn't make the bitter medicine go down easier either, as the buy levels option is still there. I'm not gonna pull the I paid X amount argument as I get you need to make money. More so since your recent split, but adding buy levels option is a spit in the face of the point of the game you made.
Why should Johnny FlushWithCash over here get the rewards I spent days earning by throwing money at his screen? I'm sorry, but if you do this I may quit. (let the you won't be missed comments begin)
Edit: I can see many of you are not understanding, or are simply refusing to. I dont mind the legendaries being in there. I can just find those easily from farming a activity. My issue is the possible implications this could stim and the fact id rather that exotic be a quest like the bow, but the new HC is just given to us. Why am I wrong for wanting a looter to remain at its core a looter? I felt the same about being handed coldheart. And BTW I already bought the $60 version. I have zero issues with this system aside from a unique weapon being just thrown at me.

Johnny isn't playing on your controller so it's none of your concern is it? why are people counting other people's pockets and worried over what someone else spends on? if you already have the exact same weapon from gameplay and someone else paid for the levels at the end and got theirs, does yours stop working? nooooooo people are so childish

3 RepliesFor premium pas users(meaning those who bought the season or those who bought the digital deluxe Shadowkeep), the handcannon is the 1ST REWARD. For those who are playing that season for free(meaning they didn’t buy the season or didn’t buy Shadowkeep digital deluxe) Then they get it around the 25th or 35th tier. Meaning it’s extremely easy for ANY player to get the weapon. So if you don’t play the game almost at all, then you won’t get it until they add it into the next season as a random drop or you can buy it. I don’t get how this isn’t consumer friendly. It basically means those who are more casual can get all the stuff for a couple bucks. Just much much later than everyone else. Think about people who are deployed, just had a child, are in college finals, etc etc. Sometimes you don’t have time to play, and that sucks. But with this, it means those who just didn’t have time, can still get the stuff they want. It will be much later and after everyone else has it. I don’t see the con here.

2 RepliesThe only thing you can really "buy" is with the "catch-up" mechanic, which will only be activated at the tail end of the season. If you buy the season pass, you get the new exotic INCREDIBLY early. It'll take a few hours to get at most. You'll get a reward within a day or two of an expansion launching, and Johnny FlushWithCash has to wait until the end of the season and then spend money to do something that can be done in a few hours. Bottom line: Johnny's the sucker, not you.

Oh also there's no "pay to get ranks" option yet, Bungie are going to wait until the end of the season to decide on if they'd turn it on or not, then so forth it would only be active at the end of a season, not at the start or midseason, you clearly didn't get the memo

Either way, paying players get access to X content/items while free players get access to Y items but not X.

I don’t spend on MTX. Haven’t purchased anything with Silver besides what we received when purchasing the Annual Pass. I have most of the Eververse stuff from Seasons 1-6. Not much from 7 as I’m hoarding my Bright Dust. I don’t really care too much about this unless the items for sale are must have or game breaking and are not accessible via regular gameplay.

The season is 10 weeks long and you can earn 10 levels a week pretty easy.

BUT still the battle pass thing IT HAS TO BE ALL COSMETIC! items with stats even if they are reduced stats as stated is still not acceptable as your diluting the loot pool I mean how many sets of armour and weapons does season of the undying add? having 90% of it coming from ranks sucks... I'm also one of the people that didn't like the idea of content going away but if like discribed the guns go to a vendor who then has a stock that rotates each week like we had in D1 that is MORE than acceptable please go ahead and remove forges, gambit prime and the reckoning etc asap and make that happen. But yeah I cancelled by pre-order of shadowkeep a week back after Luke Smiths posts that hinted at this glad I did I will not feed Bungie's greed machine anymore.

3 things: -I think the season pass is an awesome idea, because it gives you more set goals to work towards for all player types. -I do not think new season exotics should be part of the pass (maybe an exotic engram, or an exotic quest that drops like the bow) but getting an instant exotic after buying the pass feels weird. (Like the coldheart club in D2Y1 -Not sure how i feel about the pay to catch up mechanic. Depending on the price, it seems like if people decide to buy a season, that should be enough incentive for them to earn the stuff through gameplay, not an extra price tag. As for people that don't buy the season, but then want to fork out money at the end for stuff? Like what's the point? they should have just bought the season in the first place and gotten more bang for their buck.

Although you get the premium track with shadowkeep and will be able to get everything fast and now free to play players will be able to get those rewards as well (just later), which aren’t bad changes in my opinion. But the option to buy ranks is just a hit in the face and my reason to stop playing d2 altogether. If people can just pay for stuff 2-4 weeks into the season i used my time and energy to get, i am gonna stop playing this game

Literally everything about the Season pass is fine besides buying levels at the end. You can go ahead and blame all the people consistently complaining on the forums they "don't have enough time" to do things. When people whine just because they don't have time to do something, they're selfishly trying to ruin the experience for the rest of the community and devalue the grind people go through. Personally, I'm hoping they cap the amount of levels you can buy. Like, no more then 5 levels. OR, only being able to buy levels in the free tier.

1 ReplySo my understanding is that Bungie is now letting players up and just purchase exclusive gear that is included in the pass? I'm all for using cash on visual stuff, but being able to do that to potentially get a jump on your competition weeks ahead of time just doesn't sit right with me. I'll wait and see where this storm heads once they actually put that idea in motion, but I'm not holding my breath.
