Barebones PVP
Could a non exotic crucible work? I hate hearing, oh this is broken or this was nerfed to the ground or whatever is it.
The crucible we have now could stay obviously, but just offer a new mode for those people who want a "fair" gun match. Legendaries only, no exotics, just guardian vs guardian. Then all those complaining about the one eyed mask wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
I personally don't see how it would hurt having a secondary option. More options in the game never hurt anything.
Edit: I would think with Bungies Halo history, more of those style games would be in here, however I don't know how many of those developers are still around and I'm sure they want to keep the games different or have other reasoning.

Same armor and weapons for everyone. Titan vs Titan etc. But that’s not Bungie’s style. They want you to pay and grind for an advantage in their “balanced” game.

My idea of a great Barebones mode would be: No exotic armor or weapons No supers 2 weapons only. 1 or 2 primaries, a primary or special, or a primary and a heavy Slow charging grenades (like 3 minutes slow) Slower charging class abilities (like 2 minute charge time) All armor perks disabled This should be the only playlist that awards Glory. This is how Black Ops 4's ranked system works, and Bungie shouldnt try to copy BO4, but it wouldnt hurt to "gather inspirarion" from what it gets right. Just don't follow their microtransaction practices....

It could probably work, but Exotics are a big part of the game, same with random rolls. If they were going to go that route, they'd probably need to go all out and make it MLG, no supers, everyone has the same guns and such. I dont think theyd want to split up the player base with another game mode. People already complain about long wait times and lag. Another play list would make it worse.

For abilities they could do cod style where 3 kills nets you a overcharged one shot melee, 6 for a grenade, and 10 for a super. (just me thinking out loud so shoot it to bits).

Exotics aren't really the biggest problem. Super mods and special/heavy ammo are.

I would say a no Super game mode might be better. Gun game? Random weapons each spawn, could be fun.

Nonsense. The best loadouts don't even need exotics. All what would happen with your suggestion is destroy variety

No exotics( including armor) or pinnacle weapons would be an interesting type of modifier. Especially for Trials (if it ever comes back) Also, a blue gear only mode would be hilarious, about as bare bones as you could get.

9 RepliesWe’ve been asking for this for a long time. Everyone starts with a regular assault rifle, and you pick up weapons on the map. It’s called halo and it was the best FPS multiplayer there ever was.

One eyed mask is trash. Only garbage players use it. If they need a crutch they suck at the game mode.

This is Destiny. It's not every other FPS so stop trying to make it into every other FPS. Yes it has flaws and lacks 6v6 maps but if I want a bland shooter I'll play another game.
