Destiny's gunplay is top notch, music artwork lore is very good. Everything else is garbage, economy, levelling, enticement, loot, progression, implementation. It's actually laughable what game companies get away with in 2018/19. D2 promised 'tonnes of loot' but there's barely any. The amount of reused models and D1 reskins, is horrendous, even the yr2 stuff is mostly reskinned Yr1 stuff. Treyarch promised black ops 4 would be the most supported, and expansive cod to date, yet it's produced the lowest amount of maps in any cod ever, and half of them are old maps from previous cods. They get away with it because people accept it. No other business model in any business worldwide gets away with this, or they'd go under. Edit: and that's not including all the bugs + glitches and untested things pushed out in patches, or just broken stuff that they release anyway. It's actually scandalous that the have the audacity to take pride in the shipshop workmanship.

They keep putting microtransactions in games because these games sell and people buy the microtransactions. At least enough of us for them to keep doing it I wouldnt say destiny is garbage, Any part of destiny is garbage. Are there problems? Yes theres lots of problems and they're very slow to fix anything the community or at least a part of the community cares about in any meaningful way. I'm not sure what games you were playing a decade ago or longer and point and say "that" is when games were better? Games are more complex than ever, deeper than ever, more content than ever. Things that just wasnt possible on the 360, Ps2, PSOne etc. Games were smaller required less development time and therefore could be shipped without needing constant day one patches or continued fixes/ didnt have the ability to offer DLC from a digital storefront in your home. Social media at least in my mind changed everything. It gave the worst kind of people a voice. People who are NEVER satisfied and feel like their opinion is somehow more valid than e everyone else. We live in the age of percieved self importance. The age of overvaluation of ones self. The age of a serious lack of self awareness.
