Just got my first "powerful engram" from Ikora for the season... And what is the POWERFUL reward for grinding out 20 bounties of old content? A pair of 651 boots... Which means we'll need 8 powerful engrams to go up a single light level. Oops, I forgot. Been a while since I was on the grind. More like 20 because the next one I get will also probably be boots again.
There is no protection for repeats of anything in this game. Exotic drops are all repeats and have been for some time. The last few that I need will never drop it seems. Effort is just not rewarded. Powerful engrams, and even prime engrams seem MORE likely to drop for the item that is your highest light level, not your lowest, meaning no reward for the effort of getting them. Just sold 3 prismatic shells which I carried for the whole season and never got to use because the same crap is there time and again, but nothing ever that I needed. Eververse engrams drop repeats (can't remember the last time I got something I don't have from one of them), yet there are plenty of ships, emotes etc I still need.
Oh and I did one of the new gambit bounties and was rewarded with 2 blue items. lol Seriously? All this is supposed to be enough motivation to grind through the same content? I left the game towards the end of last season because the crap RNG was depressing the -blam!- out of me. I came back to see if grinding to 700 might keep me interested for a bit. Doesn't seem likely. It was fun in the beginning when I had something to play for. Thank you Bungie for making a game that I loved. But -blam!- you all for making me hate it.
TL;DR This game is a dead horse and I'm not sure why I'm still flogging it.

2 RepliesI literally asked myself why about two hrs into a play session today and just turned my PS4 off. Gambit just isn’t compelling enough to play for a whole season.
-
Oh man that's tough luck. All of my drops have been 654 and above. My lowest being 652 but only because I played content that I expected to give me stuff of that level(dailies really)
-
2 RepliesIt's confirmed to be a bug. They are fixing it right now.
-
2 RepliesHe probably did one of the new gambit “catch up” bounties and didn’t realize it lol
-
Ikora's powerfuls aren't that good. Doing your Strikes, Nightfall, Heroic, Crucible, Flashpoint, and Primes... those will drop higher. Before the update, my powerful drops from these sources were dropping at 650. The moment the update went live, I was getting 654, 658 and 659. Ikora is really only worth doing cause she has a higher chance to give an exotic.
-
You mean one of the top 4 bounties? The bounties that drop guaranteed 640 gear, to catch up for the new season? OMG, how dare Bungie help people get leveled enough for new content!
-
After yesterday I’ve gotten a couple powerful drops 655+
-
6 RepliesOh wow, an easy powerful drop gave you a small bump in power, it's like that's how the system works :O.
-
Rewards suck here. I haven’t had an that I haven’t had exotic in a long ass time. Where’s my 1kv for sherpa’ing? Nope it goes the the guy you sherpa’d What about cleansing knife for me? Goes to a guy who got it 5 times who you ran it with all those times. Must have gotten a glittering key?! NOPE. Bungie wants you to quit.

8 RepliesWe see passion in the art. Game has good bones.
-
My first two "powerful" engrams were 651. I logged out after that.

5 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 3/6/2019 3:38:47 AMI’m not. It doesn’t feel much like Destiny anymore. Feels like chores because it’s uninspired activities that are made challenging just for the sake of it. I miss actual story DLCs.

Edited by Atoms_777: 3/7/2019 12:23:33 AMnot defending the leveling system because its utter crap some tips for those not touching gambit or raids if you are starting at 650 -first do power frames at bergusia to get a 6-7 point jump per frame -do dreaming city (ascendant challenge/ blind well) milestones second for 5-6 point drop from rewards -do regular milestones (crucible/flash point) for drops that will play catch up to your previous drops they average around 655

3 RepliesMy first 3 powerful drops were 653and 655 and I got a prime for 656. Y'all are bad at this.
-
Meanwhile people who haven't been grinding get to do a few bounties and get to 640. I understand Bungies reasoning and don't begrudge the players that use the boost but Bungie could have at least thrown us a bone.
-
1 ReplyI've stopped playing way before the forge came out.... The flame isn't there for me anymore. The forges was boring... And now this so called season of the drifter is all about pvp and crappy gambit. No thanks Pvp and gambit aren't for me
-
3 RepliesI hear you. I got a 651 drop as my powerful reward from completing the Titan flashpoint. It was such a slap in the face that I, LITERALLY, came within a hair's breadth of putting down my controller and turning off the game. The only reason I'm even THINKING of coming back was because I got a 656 drop from Reckoning. But to be honest, I'm tired of this shit from the investment team. I'm sick of them treating us like mindless addicts and laboratory pigeons. I'll probably play unitl I get the gear that I want....and forget levelling up. Between the nerfs to weapons in PVE...and this progression system nonsense....its once again clear that the don't know WTF they're doing...and they refuse to learn.
-
The content is super thin, gotta inflate it somehow, so the power grind is where they took it.
-
7 RepliesMeanwhile new players get a boost with the 640 bounties so they don't have to grind so hard
-
My cruicable and gambit rewards where 651 primaries ... I just went to bed lol
-
Well, you guys can waste your time. I got 2 651 pieces yesterday, played one match of Gambit Prime, then uninstalled the game. It's time to head back to the single player games for a while. I did want to play a bad guy playthrough of RDR2. Maybe next season Bungie, or not. I'm not counting on it.
-
5 RepliesYou put in more work than I did then. I took a stroll around to the tower npc's and logged out.
-
Yep got a couple of 651 drops and one 652 on Tuesday then shut down D2 and have no desire to continue.
-
My thoughts exactly. I’ll probably come back for the fall expansion but holy shit they better never do another annual pass again
-
Edited by name: 3/6/2019 9:00:59 AMim not bothering since october , and seeing how the game is doing confirms my decision to quit early on
