I mostly avoided Gambit for the better part of my Destiny career thus far (which is short I will admit).
But when I saw that 3x Infamy was on offer and Season of the Drifter upcoming... I thought that since I paid my money to play whatever Bungo decides to release, I gave Gambit a good shot.
I actually really enjoy it! I was super skeptical, with the invader and everything (not a pvp fan). But I was super pumped about it and ended up getting to Fabled 3. I'm hoping to get to Legend before reset tomorrow but that's okay. You can DEFINITELY tell when your team is working really well.
Please allow teams to remain together - PLEASE!
I am looking forward to SotD with this sweaty gambit. I still want some more Story content, but this looks decent!
What do you guys think? Excited? Skeptical?

5 RepliesEdited by RAUDRULF: 3/5/2019 5:06:42 PMGambit Mode: - Fools Rush. 1) - Each Match to enter will cost you 2,000 Glimmer. 2) - Each Match win, will reward you 2.5 X your Input. (essentially taking the other Teams glimmer) 3) - Load outs Are voted on Pre game and is fixed throughout the game. (weapons are automatically loaded into their slots, all with the same perks, and stats as the other team, and disappear once the Game ends) 4) - Map is voted on pre Game. 5) - Enemies don't drop ammo. (your ammo perks are linked to the ammo crates) 6) - Ammo Crates drop specific ammo types, and are opened with Motes. 7) - Invaders are rotational, if you have invaded Once, you can not invade until it is your turn. 8) - Invader Beacons can be activated with Motes. (inform you where the invader is coming from, by alarming the area) Rewards = masterwork weapons, armor and higher exotic drop rate, inc masterwork cores etc. Just shooting the shit?

9 RepliesI did my 3 resets this weekend. Got my first meatball for the season. dropped the ship... when the ship dropped I got the triumph... everyone had been telling me that i needed 3 resets in a season for ghost, didn't realise that I already had unlocked it. Did 3x resets for no reason. But i did have some fun other than frustration of how bad mote picking up is.

The absolute worst part about gambit is it's catch'up mechanics and an almost forced 3 round match every game. Nobody wants to be handed round 2 after being brutally stomped during round 1. Just let the game progress naturally, bungie.
-
5 RepliesEver since I completed the Malfeasance questline, I've enjoyed Gambit a ton. Maybe it's because I got against the meta and use classes like Thundercrash and 5 super mods. Yes, I've gotten hate mail for it lol

2 Repliesgambit is 100% a solid game mode. the new season? not sold on it, or the last one, OR the next one. problem being they keep putting game changing crud in these dlc's to try and force your hand and buy it. why is there one non exotic machine gun in the game AND WHY IS IT LOCKED BEHIND THE SEASON PASS??? also consider the following; while yes gambit is the best game mode in destiny yet. they are screwing anyone who didn't want to fork over more money on a (as a whole) mediocre product. once this season launches people with the pass will have access to (gambit specific) OP armor and buffs over everyone else. Bungie is basically saying "yeah we will destroy our one of two (the other being iron banner which i found surprisingly well crafted and really how control should work in general) good game modes in order to get more money. im so livid by this idea im gonna start a post right now on it.

I actually enjoy gambit, but not when going for breakneck. The first day it came out, I played 40 matches in one day and it sucked. I am really excited for Gambit Prime though, it actually looks pretty fun.
-
2 RepliesGambit CAN be fun. When trying to get the Breakneck, no, it was not fun. 40 games of that shit was just too much. But when you get a group of randoms that know what they're doing and BANK THEIR MOTES WHEN THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO.....Gambit can be fun. The 2 round matches are really nice/fun. Hard part is getting paired up with people that know how to play Gambit.

I've had a lot of fun with Gambit. I think it's a great idea, that just needed some tweaks here and there. I just wish the experience was just a little more consistent. Last week I got shut out 4 games in a row and didn't see a Primeval once. Yesterday, it was the opposite. Got a bunch of wins. It's such a mixed bag.

1 ReplyHonestly, despite the hate, gambit is fun. It’s a fast-paced, team-based competitive activity that puts your cooperation and teamwork to the test. Obviously, the mode isn’t perfect and needs some work, but what doesn’t? I know it’s not for everyone, but I always have a fun time playing it and I’m excited for season of the drifter

Haven’t played for about a month and decided to do so this past weekend to brush off the rust. I’ve always been a fan of the gambit mode and I enjoy it more than crucible to be honest. Only salt I had was no new loot in last season which made the mode less rewarding. Looking forward to today’s update to see what this new stuff is all about.

5 RepliesSince getting my Malfeasance, Gambit is much more fun! Hello Mr. Invader! Goodbye Mr. Invader! It even does decent boss damage.

Had 1 game about a hour ago and thought meh

3 RepliesIf Bungo would freakin just focus on it, and not add sweaty Gambit and timers...Gambit could be an amazing thing. I enjoy it as well. The issue is that Bng are so F'ing slow to make anything or change anything. Same spawn points for months.. Same meta for months.. Same maps for months.. Is it really that challenging to create maps for Gambit? Shit I would do it for free with proper training and a PC. Makes no sense.

5 RepliesEdited by TheWagn: 3/4/2019 9:47:54 PMGambit is awesome when your team is decent. The problem is you get matched with 3 randoms who only care about completing bounties vs a 4 stack of tryhards who get the primeval up and melted before you can even invade. Or you get paired with me as I'm currently only going for super invasion kills for triumph and could care less about winning the match. The problem with gambit is that it is heavily weighted in favor of teams vs randoms, which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. It just makes it sort of crappy to play over matchmaking. If they had a way to only pair stacks vs stacks and keep the solo que people in their own playlist it would be fantastic. That's my 2 cents anyways. When the teams are fairly balanced it plays great.

Gambit matchmaking sucks arse.
-
It's something to do, but it doesn't compare to actual new content. I can't see this keeping people engaged for 3 months.
-
I've got a turd they can polish, they seem really good at it
-
1 ReplyI like gambit as well and am looking forward to the new version.
-
3 RepliesNeutral. I don't want it to be bad, because it will make these forums a saltstorm. But I don't want it to be too good, because I can't buy the pass on principle. I don't lick the boot that kicked me.
-
1 ReplyI feel like I will like the mode more when I can specialize in a particular role. So far, I'm thinking that I want to be an ad clear role.
-
1 ReplyI just love invading and messing with the enemy team. Nothing more satisfying than a team wipe.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Local Potato Enthusiast: 3/4/2019 11:39:34 PMI reset twice during it, worth the 24+ hours of gambit, never got bored either. Now its just one more reset, and the ship, and Dredgen will be mine!
-
Gambit is a really great idea for a game mode. Not perfect, but hopefully this update changes it up. I soloed a lot this season cause I didn't know anyone on PC. Got my breakneck. I enjoyed it, had one game where I got 26 guardians down. (Still lost cause my randoms were potatoes) Recently made friends by just soloing and messaging people who did well, good game, want to group up? Now I have a handful of people to tear it up with this season and I'm stoked to have some people to play with. If your a solo player put yourself out there and try and make some friends! Really enhances the experience.
-
Glad you enjoyed it, its a fun game mode, im super pumped for whatever comes next
-
Down voted because you had an opinion that i don't like. /s

Teams aren't broken up after a match. People choose to leave. Likely so they can requeue. After playing a lot of Gambit this week I'm thinking that after a shutout the teams should be forceably broken up just like Crucible.
