Played the demo today... it sucks... jerky controls, bad voice acting...
They are not even similar games...... 3rd person...
All the people saying it’s only a demo - I played the destiny alpha and beta and the game was pretty much the same when it came out.
The only thing anthem does good is colorblind mode.

This guy gets it. The gameplay is ‘off’. The field of view is BAD. Too much depth in the battle arenas. You get lost. It’s objectives aren’t clear. It’s not a bad game. just stop comparing it to Destiny

How are you getting lost?

Your argument is missing the part of Destiny being five years old and still having alpha and beta type issues and a developer that continues to -blam!- the game up more than the changes improve the game. Yes, I have some fun, but the game has lost more than it has improved over the past five years or so.

I'm not a Fan Boy and there is a tonne of warty Destiny issues (mainly Bungie decisions and choices), but the basic game play (i.e. Aiming, movement, jumping, controls etc.) is far far better in Destiny than in Anthem. I pre-ordered Anthem, played 6+ hours in the VIP Demo on Xbox One, then cancelled my pre-order and then uninstalled it. I really really wanted Anthem to be a game I could either move to (a year of Destiny drip feed of mediocre content is unacceptable) completely or at least something to play and enjoy, but Anthem isn't there. It's pretty, it seems to be Open World (though I've been lied to about that sort of thing before in other games) and I think it's going to have a tonne of lore to explore, but the basic game play is clumsy and in some cases, just broken. For example, the Colossus javelin simply can not jump up to a 10 foot platform as the jump button (tapping A) barely gets me off the ground and you can not hover (right stick after jumping) even if you get it off the ground. The only way to do this is jump and then hit the powered flight (left stick click) which either launches you into the air or smashes you into a wall. And trying to drop land onto smallish platforms in the Colossus is an excercise in futility form the air. Other Javelins don't have this issue, but the heaviest model simply is broken and this should have been caught and addressed early in testing. The game just feels rushed and unpolished. Maybe they will solve that, but I'm not giving them $85 CDN for the base game as an act of Charity and hoping they solve these issues.

Edited by x ShadowsBane x: 2/2/2019 8:46:15 PMThe longer you hold the jump button the higher you will jump and then at the top of your jump you release and then hold the button again to have the colossus engage thrusters that propel him higher. It makes sense how they did it because you wouldnt expect the colossus to be as maneuverable as the other classes since they want it to have a more weighty feel to the movement given its size.

BTW, when people complained on D2's beta, Bungie stated that "it was an old build". Only to have the vanilla game launch with the same issues the beta had. I'm not saying that Anthem is perfect or anything coles. In fact, it runs like ass on PS4, with stuttering and inconstant framerates to say the least. But the main thing is that people are simply acting like D2 (and D1) haven't had issues on the betas and even on launch.
