For those who don’t know, one of the designers for Bungie, Roderick Weise put out a tweet basically asking the community if we’d like to see more armor and weapons brought back from Destiny 1. It seems kind of ridiculous to me that this is something that’s being asked when there’s a massive elephant in the room, a literal years worth of armor and weapons that see very little use now due to the fact that weapons don’t have random rolls, and armor doesn’t have rolls at ALL. One particular item that peaks my interest is the Leviathan raids. I would LOVE random rolled weapons, if it means a Trench Barrel Zenith of your Kind or a Box Breathing Conspirator or something. And the Leviathan armor, while I never much liked the Titan set, the Hunter was fairly good and the Warlock was one of my absolute favorites. And that’s just the Raid. There’s Forged weapons that are just BEGGING for random rolls, and a bunch of plain old world drop weapons and armor. The answer to making Destiny look and feel cool isn’t necessarily to reskin old D1 stuff, but work with what you already have. Let’s be clear here, Id love to see armor and weapons on the cool factor level of Destiny 1. The Raid sets for D1 were incredible, and the ornaments made them some of the more outlandish and spectacular things in the Destiny universe. We need more like that. Because while I like the Leviathan weapons and armor, the ornaments are a letdown. Prestige Leviathan armor is just Leviathan In Purple, EOW ornaments are my favorite of the Leviathan, but then Spire Ornaments are just shaders. Work with what you have first. Not even bringing up Faction Rallies and the like. Make more of the Year One stuff Year Two, then maybe we can think about incorporating some D1.
