Met the worst guardian ever today
Playing Gambit this morning. First round we summoned our prime and killed it with no problems. Other team barely had 1/3 of their motes.
Second round was considerably more difficult, which isn't really a surprise. It's obvious the game is set up that way.
Third round. The third round was terrible. Waves kept spawning but we couldn't get our prime. I thought it was maybe the invasions. We finally hear that we can summon a prime evil. The other team's prime was half dead but it wasn't impossible to come back. Everyone banks and there's still someone out on the field. Look around and see a hunter jump onto the center platform , dance in front of the bank, wave and then....HE JUMPED OFF THE PLATFORM WITH 14 MOTES!
Round ends. Post match screen comes up and he lost 60 motes.
I'm speechless. It's been bothering me all morning. I may not be able to play Gambit anymore without being triggered.
EDIT: for everyone thinking that I'm literally experiencing PTSD over this, I was joking. Didn't think an over the top statement like that needed a sarcasm tag, my bad. 😁

3 RepliesI was playing Gambit the other day running solo. Round 1, first wave of ads I’m gunning them down while the team picks up motes. There’s an ogre in the center so I rush in to kill it so they can bank. I die at the same time the ogre goes down due to a sniping Vandal. This guy with 15 motes banks his motes and then proceeds to teabag me instead of rezzing me. The gloves are off mother funker. I was the random, in with a team of 3. The other two weren’t like this guy, but they were on the same team, so they were the unfortunate collateral. You are damned straight I helped throw the match. We lost, I smiled. Embrace the darkness.

I play mostly solo and the other day I had a perfect fire team. Everyone knew what they were doing, we only lost 6 motes in a game. It’s a easy perfect win which doesn’t happen very often. Everyone was keep depositing about 10 motes at the time. I found that it’s the best to keep depositing about 10 motes at the time instead of 15. While you are trying to collect 15, you may get killed by enemies or invader and loose all the mores is the worst.

This dude today camped out in the portal. Yea. In. The portal. He would invade and about 2 seconds later "your invader is down, Im pulling him back". Approximately 7,980,776 times in ONE match. He didn't kill any enemies or gather any motes.

What happens when pve is forced to play pvp for powerful engrams What happens when gambit is fixed, that it wants you to play 3 rounds, so fkin obvious Gambit is as boring as hell, why on earth would you want to do 3 rounds, when you can do 2, not giving a shit if you win or lose Participation, that's all he was doing

Guy on my team today lost 43 motes dying to adds over and over.

I want to grind it for bygones (sick of that being the only weapon in crucible to gaff me) but it's so tedious. Mote hungry players.. Etc. Personally... It's the bounties... Even I noticed myself not playing correctly so I could complete certain bounties. Then there's the triumphs... I feel that theuy distract from game play and affect how players... Play.

Agree.... I'm really trying to like Gambit as it can be fun with the right players, but more often then not I find myself going 3 vs a team of 4, players not reviving you when their right next to you, still get shot when I'm behind a wall.... and yes, people not banking motes.

4 RepliesI don't touch Gambit these days and wont until it stops being treated like a PVP mode with a bit of PVE by most players. It just isn't fun right now. Its a shame as its got tonnes of potential but Bungie need to up the chaos like Blind Well, six man team wrecking in there is so much fun, it seriously needs its own loot table. There should be no invasions allowed In Gambit until your teams Primeval is summoned (that should stop the portal camping) and even then only the top two players, by kills and motes banked, are allowed to invade (again, rewarding those who actually play the mode). You have to earn the right to invade. Plus the catch up buff needs to go, you shouldn't be punished for plating the game well. If anything, the team further ahead should be given a multiplier on damage dealt making it essential to get a good lead and keep it. Basically an all out race to the end with the winning team getting a higher chance of better loot. Oh, and make it six versus six too.

It's a great game mode, just some "Darkzone' type issues. Which means, it can be frustrating -_-

1 ReplyBlame it on Bungie. Gambit second round is rigged. If you win the first Round..the second round will be hell for you. Remember PVP balancing? The third round kinda 50-50.

2 RepliesWhen I play Gambit, having already the Trust and Malfeasance rewards, I just make motes. I let my team pick them up while I keep the depository clear of enemies. I also wait for Mr Invader! When primeval spawns, I am on tether. 2-3 and most all adds are dead, 4-5 boon and Mr Primeval is calling his lawyer for Will and Trust advice! There is the occasional prankster, but, they rapidly realize no one is amused! My current priority when I play Gambit is to help my team! It is not about me or my bounties! It is always about the team and the win! That said, there will always be the idiot...

3 Repliesi have worse. matched a guy the other day who was on my team and purposefully sabotaged us. he just jumped off the map, respawned, rinse and repeat over and over. banked 0 motes and didn’t have any enemy kills when i had 100 motes banked on the endgame screen. he even used the portal every time our team would summon it just to go in and emote, and whenever someone invaded us he would feed them kills. it was extremely annoying as i had a bounty to be first to summon primevals as well as others that required winning and was doing the best i could individually. i messaged him afterward, asking him what in the world his problem was. he said that there was no point in trying since the malfeasance servitor didn’t spawn. so basically he felt the need to purposefully get our team to lose just because his servitor didn’t spawn. it didn’t effect me at all, but it was somehow still the most aggravating and frustrating conversation i have had in ps messages since i got this game. i still don’t understand how someone could be that idiotic.
