Buff tether

Tether needs to be buffed ASAP in pvp. IT SHOULD 1HK non super gaurdians. It should go back to its old tracking. The time for tether activation is just extremely slow. There should be no denial to it. People that push a nightstalker that's shooting the tether don't feel punished by any way because they'll find their way out easily especially shotgunners.

  • Personally I feel like normal tether should have a total of 3 tether shots. While Quiver can stay normally at around 5-6 tethers I believe. I also feel enemies that are tethered should regenerate ability energy (not super energy).

    • Maybe. A guardian not in super should be killed by a direct hit from the way of the trapper tether. It should take two hits from the other. But the other should get a small buff to tether distance and activation times. The hunter needs an all around buff to resilience during super for all classes, with the exception of arcstrider. If spectral blades got a buff, it too would not need a resilience buff.

    • Needs a buff in PvE as well cuz for some reason heavy damage isn't buffed by it even though in PvP the damage of heavies do get an increase

      • I saw this and was like, yea they should buff tether its too weak now and the other classes are more worth using and then i saw it said “in pvp” and my immediate reaction was NO NO NONONNON NO NONO NO ONO

          • Yeah they need buff tether super be that once you get effected by it you can't move and shoot at all for 1 minute untill the tether super wears off or you get killed and also they need make the tether super AoE 3x bigger then it's now.

          • amen not working as intentend from what I can tell. Lost count the amount times a guardian has walked past my tether, took me out before the tether latches on. Should work instantly, by far the worst super in pvp

              • Tether ideas, all nightstalker bow shots pierce enemies and leave them volatile for 10s, shots does 180dmg to non super guardians, precision damage is enabled for ohk.. if a volatile enemy is killed they explode into a tether, where ever the arrow from the bow ends up, it leaves a tether triple the size.. any projectile supers thrown through a tether will be caught, absorbed and deal damage to everything tethered(hammers, nova,chaos, pretty much everything) melee supers will be caught as usual. shooting the tethers heart will still damage it aswell as everything tethered tethered enemies will suffer decreased accuracy, increased recoil, no health recovery, and a trippy display...

                  • If they don't make it a one hit then add a hunter exotic that adds an effect when it hits someone like how helm of saint-14 did but for like .5 seconds.

                    • I was playing gambit today. I was on arcstrider. An invader came in and I knew exactly there he spawned ( he was by drill). I used that portal to get to the drill. He sees me really fast coming with my super. So he tethers. I was 3 ft from him. His tether didn't work till I killed him. As I did this one I was like " Wow tether needs a huge buff cause that super is more useless than the last node on code of the missle on titan" im glad I don't use tether.

                          • I'm a Warlock main (for now), and I agree with this for the most part. Tether can be pretty underwhelming in the Crucible. I was running Spectral Blades one time, and I killed a tether user running quiver while tethered with 5 shots from a 180 RPM hand cannon followed up by a melee. The super can be a little slow.

                          • It needs better tracking and to kill nonsuper guardians on contact. It also needs to suppress an damage super guardians on contact instantly. Basically make it back to how the D1 version performed but with better tether time an seeking.

                              • Shadowshot for Trapper should one shot in PvP. Not so much for Pathfinder as that would be a little too OP. More consistency would also be nice. But that goes for anything. Spectral Blades also needs a look at it's hit detection. It's as bad as Sentinel Shield used to be.

                                • That's like complaining that my Well of Radiance doesn't kill people. That's not the point. Run an offensive super if you want to kill. The subclasses has massive strength from it's other abilities. It's about totality of the subclasses, not just the super.

                                  • Honestly it seems like it’s still broken and isn’t even working as bungie intended. I had an interesting one yesterday with a hammer Titan pushing towards my team. I tethered early, about 2 seconds later he jumped about 5ft over the tether, landed the other side, took out me and another teammate and then the tether attached. I would say he had been in range of the tether for over 3 seconds before it got him. It obviously isn’t working as intended and it would be nice if bungie could comment on whether they are looking into it.

                                  • The problem isn't that it takes too long to activate. The problem is that you have Predator permanently stuck as a perk. Tether NEEDS to become a trap before going off and that's the weakness. My idea for a fix? GIVE US CUSTOMIZABLE SUBCLASSES SO WE DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. If people want to plan ahead with their Shadowshot, cool. Trap it up. People want an on demand super shutdown? cool, take the perk off.

                                    • Eh, I’m a little wary of that suggestion. It would be cool if it actually worked, but some of the suggestions I see are making this seem way overpowered. Some people suggested that it kill and instant suppress and attach to everyone. Honestly, that would absolutely ruin it’s balance in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind a perk that did that, maybe at the cost of its perimeter, I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♂️ That super is just one of those supers that would absolutely suck if it became the meta just because of how obnoxious it is to die by it. I want it to become useable, but please don’t let it become the meta. The super seems to balance oh so gently in between defense and offense. I wish all support supers were more viable in PVP, but it seems like the game isn’t built for that. In objective based games it works out because it pays off to set up a defensive position,but in Destiny it would be better to stay mobile and ready. The only support that I saw work decently at support and defense is Defender. That baby could zone off whole points super well. I remember that if I spotted one of those in PVP I would just avoid it, because it wasn’t worth it. I don’t know though, I’m probably wrong 😅🤷🏼‍♂️

                                      • What needs to be buffed about tether? For me tether ain't a PvP class to use, hunters have plenty of classes that work well in pvp, it's more a point denial super.
