For those who haven't read it yet, in an interview with FPS news, Project Lead Scott Taylor admitted to the juggler mechanic in Destiny 2.
What is "Juggler": The juggler mechanic basically has the goal, to make you use all of your weapons equally. So when you kill with a kinetic gun, you will most likely drop energy ammo, and vice versa.

Bungie basically had to talk about it now, to dispel the concerns about ammo scarcity with the upcoming weapon slot changes. Of course no details are given, it just wouldn't be Bungie without a scoop of useless secrecy on top - but my concern is not about the mechanic itself anyway.
What bothers me, and what also keeps me from spending money on your products again, is your complete lack of transparency and honesty, unless you want to sell us something.
What kept you guys from just explaining the mechanic shortly after launch, when players realized it's still a thing in Destiny 2? Not that this is or was the biggest issue with your game, but for 9 months people were discussing this, or even went to the lengths of testing it, writing down their results in spreadsheets.
You could have saved those people hours of wasted time, if you were just upfront and honest about your game for once. Yet, you weren't.
This detail clearly shows me what is wrong with your company, the complete lack of transparency on your end. Sure, you are disgruntled about your community, because they're so "ungrateful", or they're "jerks", but did you ever wonder why that is?
It's YOUR behavior that breeds this kind of community. If you don't respect your customers enough to be honest with them, it should be no surprise that they also won't respect you anymore at some point.

No respect. Have to play the way they want you to. All the more reason to delete the game. Can’t wait to see what’s next. 🍿

1 ReplyI thought they had actually said Juggler was in effect or if it wasn't actually said the community had figured it out pretty quickly. Now that said, Bungie does have a large communication problem. In the absence of factual information people will fill in the blanks with whatever kind of makes sense and what usually kind of makes sense is negative. A lot of the toxicity comes from people just not knowing what the actual answer is.
-
Bungie did respect you. Respected you enough to think you could notice an obvious feature of the game. What you want is for Bungie to disrespect your intelligence, to hold your hand like as if were a three year old.
-
1 ReplyAny player with a brain stem could tell that juggler was intrinsic if they had played D1. Who cares if bungie didn’t explain a mechanic as small as this? It’s really not that hard to switch weapons every so often
-
4 RepliesNo offence but it's a very commonly used mechanic. Sure, it's not really a thing in a game like C.O.D. where you can just run your primary full time but a whole heck of a lot of other games use it. Basically, of all the things that they've been opaque and vague about, and WOW that's a helluva lot of things, this is probably about as minor as it can get.
-
Typical liberals - always hiding some details.... We all knew juggler was always on...
-
Edited by name: 6/26/2018 9:53:41 AMyes, this is just another reason I cant support the game anymore, it almost seems as if it was designed to make the game as unpleasant as possible to play just so the biggest enjoyment comes from opening lootboxes
-
I never even knew juggler was a thing. It was obvious though that the mechanic in place was to drop most anything but the ammo for the gun you were currently using. Just Bungie once again wanting you to play the game their way.
-
And you know the weapons have hidden perks? Perks for range or stability or reload or handling? They're hidden within the archetype. Did you know this? Is it outrageous? Are they scum for not being transparent? Is this hidden perks issue the reason ppl over react & create a toxic community? Is it? Really??
-
4 RepliesIs it just me, or do "kids these days" go out of their way to be offended by small things and to get angry about minor stuff.. Really pal? You wrote a full rant about the game developers not "confirming" an inconsequential detail that was all but an obvious mechanic to almost everyone else? Some of you people need to get a life.
-
This is actually good news. It's a hint the new weapon system won't suck because Bungie is actually thinking about how other in-game mechanics will affect it. Usually they just release something without checking how it will interact with other things already in the game.

1 ReplyEdited by SpinnerOES: 6/26/2018 3:09:18 AMHold up, why did Bungie not make a TWAB that water was wet, and someone else had to point this out of me? This is completely unacceptable, and slap in the face to the community! **insert name YTuber** "Hey guys, it's your boy *whoever* here, and Bungie once again has used their shady tactics to manipulate the player base. After doing our research off reeddit and wiki, Bungie has withheld the fact: if you jump into a pool of water , you will no longer be dry. The community demand full disclosure, and their typically We are listening response will no longer be acceptable"
-
Never read anything about it but I thought it was obvious.
-
1 ReplyI never knew there was a name for it but this is something that was pretty obvious
-
9 RepliesThis is really an issue? Why would they have to tell you? There are probably many more hidden mechanics. Hell, every game you play has them.
-
Juggler being in the game is old news. Everyone has known this since week 1. -_-
-
I’ve known about juggler since D1, an extremely annoying mechanic and another way for bungie to tell you how they want you to play the game. With regards to your other points, I couldn’t agree more.
-
4 RepliesWhile I agree with the overall point you're trying to make, I can't help but think that using the juggler mechanic is a bit of a stretch. Imagine if we applied that same logic to Dark Souls, a series that has a habit of not clearly explaining.......well......anything really. This game has far bigger issues than it's barely-hidden juggler mechanic.
-
4 RepliesI remember a twitter thread where devs spilled the beans over hidden mechanics in games they'd worked on. It was an interesting read.
-
It makes us actually use different weapons in your loadout and I’m pretty sure it was obvious that juggler was a thing in this game.
-
14 RepliesYou say "admitted" to it like it mattered.
-
People needed spreadsheets to figure out that Juggler was on..?
-
14 RepliesI’m sorry are you seriously writing an essay of crap based on the fact you haven’t noticed juggler was a thing? 😂 took most people the campaign to realise that 😂
-
1 ReplyEdited by ImStillCasual: 6/26/2018 6:07:54 AMOkay, but everyone knew juggler was on....they didn’t need to tell us. Most of us caught on fairly quickly...this is a serious reach.

man, what next, that items drop to an unknown ratio!?
