So I currently play Destiny 2 on a Decent laptop that could generally play medium-low to medium settings generally at 20-30 fps depending on whether it was a taxing situation or not. However I wanted to have more stable settings and I found a setting that helps me have high framerates. I have not seen anywhere that recommends changing this settings to increase performance on lower pcs, so I made this article. This setting is [u][b]Render Resolution.[/b][/u] You find it by going to Settings(esc) then Video, then scroll down to the bottom and you will see Render Resolution and a percent Ex. Render Resolution: 75% From there you can lower the Render resolution to as low as 25% to maximize performance. All this does is have your gpu internally generate the resolution, then either downscale or upscale the resolution on the display. For example setting it high on 1920x 1080 would make it internally render near 4k, then it would downscale it to the monitors resolution of 1920x1080. This improves visuals and makes them more crisp and clean, but is more demanding. What I found is the reverse can greatly improve performance and increase framerates. So the reverse would be setting the render resolution low, and setting it low with 1920x1080 would make it render internally say at 1280x720, then upscale to 1920x1080. This setting while it greatly improves the framerate does come at the cost of the visuals not being as good. But it may be something that enables you [u]to take a barely playable game to where you can actually play it smoothly or decently. [/u] Additionally I think if you lower your resolution setting in conjunction with lowering this setting, then you should be able to even further maximize performance on a low end pc.
