Crashing during cutscenes (Black screen freezes)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor 3.20GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 8GB
Operating System: Window 10 (version 1607) 64bit
GPU Driver is up to date
Destination/Activity: Main story missions cutscenes or returning to orbit
Description: Game crashes or freezes in black screen whenever I either enter or exit a cutscene
I can't play a story mission without crashing at least once or twice from the screen turning black and then freezing.

Ive tried enabling/disabling vysnc, no change, still freezes when screen turns black if I start a mission or cutscene

1 ReplyI have this same problem. The game runs fine until I hit a cutscene, I fast travel to a different area or I try going to orbit, then if I get lucky it lets me into the new area, but most of the time the game freezes. I have yet to see any cutscenes other than those at the very beginning of the game. I have to tell you that without the cutscenes, the game really isn't that good. Windows is up to date and I have current drivers for all hardware in my system. My Configuration is as follows. CPU: Intel i7 6700k @ 4.0 GHz GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 980ti RAM: 32GB Operating system: Windows 10 (version 1709 build 16299.19) 64bit GPU Drivers: 388.00 Destination/Activity: Story missions cutscenes, moving between locations, or returning to orbit Description: The game crashes/freezes. Some times it is with a blackscreen when attempting to view the cutscenes and sometimes it just freezes when attempting to launch to orbit or fast travel to a location. It does not matter if I have been to that location previously or not. Other than the opening cutscenes, I have not been able to view any of the story cutscenes without the game freezing with a black screen.

Edited by Seraphim: 10/26/2017 11:08:58 PMSame problem, updated the GPU driver and it seems to happen less, but it just happened again since latest driver was installed. I have an nVidia GTX 900 series, i5, same amount of ram. Hopefully this will be fixed eventually. Make sure you upvote the OP.
