Is it me or should there be FOV sliders on console. Remastered borderlands did that and it made my experience 10x better. I understand it's a small change but it changes a lot.

I would absolutely love for a greater FOV. Lot of other FPS games on console have FOV sliders now. DOOM, Battlefields, Titanfall 2. Going back to the fixed 70 view after playing at 90 for a long time feels really claustrophobic. ...it also makes using 3rd person stuff like supers and swords really difficult for me.

There will probably never be a FOV slider on console. The higher your FOV, the more textures your game has to load. No console will be able to load all those textures in this game at the set quality we get.

1 ReplyThe Handsome Collection on consoles has this? I really need to pay attention to options.
-
2 RepliesWhat is FOV sliders?
-
3 RepliesThe console can only manage 30fps because it only renders what you can see, that means objects outside your field of view are not rendered, things hidden behind opaque objects inside your field of view are not rendered. Increasing it would upset the balance of optimisation they've created to keep too many objects from being visible inside your fov on console, meaning a more unstable experience.

I am always for Quality of life changes even if its not something I would use! If some people want it and would benefit from it, i say add it! Good suggestion friend! Have a great day!

I don't understand how anybody could say no to this. More options is a good thing.

4 RepliesEdited by j-sson : 9/1/2017 12:23:15 PMConsole is inferior to PC!
-
No, go play on PC if you want that.
-
6 RepliesThe console CPU can't handle it lol, frames wouldn't even be 30
-
5 RepliesGet the PC version, if you want these kinds of options. You get it earlier. That's the tradeoff.

1 ReplyWith a higher fov more is being displayed. As the engine for destiny is to intense for the game to run at 60 with a low fov. A higher fov won't be possible unless you don't mind getting 15 fps in raids where a lot of effects would be happening which would put more stress on the hardware. Borderland remastered can do this because the engine is designed for the older gen consoles so the game would be able to run easily above 60 on a higher fov with the better hardware in the PS4 and xbox Unless bungie find away to increase the performance of the hardware a higher fov isn't going to happen

10 RepliesA higher fov is the easiest way to make a game feel faster.

71 RepliesEdited by Juul: 9/1/2017 6:03:23 PMconsole games just dont have FOV sliders lol when have you ever seen one with it? destiny definitely wont be the first. main reason, console players dont usually sit upclose at a monitor so dont need a wider fov because a wider fov means smaller gun smaller targets tighter aim. honestly console players with a 105 fov wont hit shit plain and simple. edit: stop mentioning console ports of pc games. obviously they'll retain some of their pc features lul you guys are funny

1 ReplyTitanfall 2 added it and it made the game 100x better
-
I want this more than I wanted the Ghorn during year 1. Now that's saying something.
-
Edited by evomichel: 8/31/2017 2:04:20 PMBump. Doom also had it (@60fps). 90-95 is the best fov.
-
Yes. The FoV on console is to narrow.
-
Yeah. It would be nice. I've gotten so used to higher fov's from games like titanfall 2 that it feels weird to have the annoyingly small fov in destiny.
-
1 ReplyIt would be great to have that. When you're backed up against obstacles and getting hit by the enemies, you just end up turning around in circles and dying, because you can't see what the hell is stopping you :D

Edited by RPColten: 9/2/2017 6:55:14 PMIt's pretty much a necessity in this day and age since gaming on desktop monitors is now almost as equal as gaming on a far away tv set. The increased frame of view helps to mitigate eye strain that comes from first-person vision on a monitor that is restricted to 70-80 degrees. I know my experiences (desktop monitor) with DOOM [2016] and Titanfall: 2 were increased immensely due to the option to increase the fov up to and past 100 degrees.

Battlefield 1 has a field of view slider on console.
-
2 RepliesToss in color change on reticle too.
-
Yes, 1st person games should have it. You know what...
even no man's sky on ps4 has a fov slider
-
I would love for this to be a think, that sweet 90 FoV.
-
Hopefully bungie will take notice, honestly base fov gives me motion sickness.
