A lot of people use Sharia Law as a way to slam Islam and call it violent, without really knowing what it is.
What is it? - Sharia Law is "Islamic Law" and was/is a TYPE of law system implemented in early Islamic countries (it's still implemented in many but less). The thing many people seem to think is that Sharia Law is a set code of laws. It is not. I could write my own Sharia Law right now. It's Islamic Law meaning a legal system based on Islam, but people have their own cultures in which they follow Islam. This is why it gets so much criticism, there isn't just Islam tied into it, but also the country's culture, and in many of these third world countries, their culture isn't exactly modern. So if you look at the Sharia Law of Egypt and then the Sharia Law of Libya, you get 2 very different views.
Hope that cleared it up.
Basically, Sharia Law is any law system based on Islam. Its basically the Idea of mixed church and state. Not the best government. It has the same issue as mixed church and state. Same exact thing. Its obviously not the best idea to run a Government with.
edit
TLDR: Sharia Law is any law system based on Islam.

5 RepliesFor everyone commenting with "Sharia still isn't good", OP isn't claiming that it is. OP is just explaining that Sharia isn't a strict list of laws set by the Qu'ran.

3 RepliesYou realize that most people here (me included) don't care about your opinion on Islam?

Basically, Sharia Law is any law system based on Islam.
And Islam calls for death to homosexuals and the stoning of women who are -blam!-.

TLDR: Sharia Law is any law system based on Islam, and most law systems based on islam are horrible and deserve all the hate and criticism they get..

I didn't know it was so varied, but I still stand by my belief that it is terrible.

Islam has some pretty specific laws that you are to carry out. If you don't want to follow them well that's just all fine and dandy. Your just not doing what your God tells you to do.

2 RepliesHow many countries have sharia law and font punish gays with death or physical violence for being gay?

2 RepliesGood post, however it is undeniable that installing sharia law does not will not and can not work in a modern society and no religion should be combined with the government

2 RepliesWhiiiiich sounds to me a lot like theocracy which is an insanely outdated form of lawmaking and government, and it's quite shitty and discourages freedom of religion and thus has no place in European countries as some people are trying to make it so.

2 RepliesEdited by ImOnPlate2Guys: 7/24/2017 9:45:59 PMSecular governing is the only way to get a country stable and technical advanced. Beliefs that are not tested by scientific methods or are just backed by anecdotal evidence have absolutely no place in a government.

Quran (33:21): Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.

6 Replies1. Egypt used slave labor and Lybia is full of criminals. Probably should have used better examples. 2. Religion should have no say in rules and regulations, or government at all.

49 RepliesIt is violent. If it's so peaceful, explain to me why they've been wholesale murdering each other since 600 AD when they INVENTED their religion.

18 RepliesEdited by blade329: 7/24/2017 3:33:11 PMIt's irrelevant to me. When you immigrate to another place, you need to abide by their laws, not create your own. If people want Sharia Law, or a version of it to dictate their lives, they should go to place where that is accepted. It's not part of Western society, so Muslims need to respect that and stop trying to force it into our culture.
