Ok, so I am starting to really dislike like smith after his latest interview about Destiny 2. Is bungie's new purpose to just shaft everyone loyal and passionate to destiny? Do they only support the whiny PvP noobs that get them more money? I don't think I've ever been this angry/passionate about destiny before.
Just, watch this......

1 ReplyI just think they are very dismissive about alot of things where it comes to their game. It was shown with the timed exclusives of dlc content that was supposed to arrive on xbox after a year, after the year was concluded all we got was yeah well it's not coming now till a year after rise of iron which is when destiny 2 comes out. It also shows with how dismissive they have been talking about the xbox one x (not talking about the 60 fps here cause I kinda agree it'd be unfair to those without one) It's just when people who are obviously gonna be excited about the release of both the only reaction given is we don't want to talk about that, we'll talk about it once the game is released. Really think with all the money they bragged about having for marketing they should maybe have used some of it to hire a PR rep to teach they how to interact with game fans.

Just because the current D2 is not focused around the Darkness etc doesn't mean there can't be hints at what comes next (DLCs etc). Just wait. Of course no dev ever would spoil the complete plot.
-
Guys, we all know destiny 1 had some rough times going through development with people leaving bungie, etc. that's why we didn't get the amazing story we wanted. Now, bungie knows what they are doing. They are giving us a fleshed out story with characters that will actually mean something. Lets focus on this new threat first. There is plenty of time to go back and revisit the old story, but for now let's focus on the guys who are actually the problem in this new story.

3 RepliesHere is what I figured happened. Joe Staten left along with the rest of the creative talent that wrote the story and they have to start over because they have no clue what the rest of the plot was.
-
2 RepliesI feel a bit conflicted about this, its like the talent is being choked to silence while the trump loud mouth no real sustance mentality lies below at the helm. Its like all the jerk offs know that they're on the glory team without actually being the glory players, the real dudes are the one being whipped rn by these guys.

Pvp noobs? So one players please make s3ns3.
anyone triggered by my s3ns3s
3 RepliesI would have liked to have seen a more fleshed out story. But ultimately it was still awesome and as long as they add more cutscenes to D2 I'll be happy. Loves me some cutscenes.
-
9 RepliesIt's called arrogance. He knows you will buy the game anyway.
-
7 RepliesI said it in a previous post.. It's all too bad. It just reinforces that nothing you do truly matters. In a game built on grinding and play time, where you are supposedly building your "legend".. it just shows there is no really well thought out sequence, or purpose. All the rich lore they kept taking about, built the story around - worthless. It's no different from weapons that, at one time feel special, but in time bungie destroys. Nothing we do in the future matters, it's just a point and shoot game. It will just be reworked and story shifted with no substance, no thought to continuity. And I think that's bungie ultimate critical fail; they could have built on D1 and made everyone know they have a plan, but now there is very little reason for anyone to invest real playtime. It's truly a waste of time. People will still buy the game and play it from time to time to kill some dregs, but I think they have lost a lot of the die hard base that truly made this community. Oh well, maybe someday they will fire Luke Smith and all the other knuckleheads that make decisions around there. At this point, I'm rooting for the game to fail, which is pretty sad.
-
1 ReplyKind of makes you wonder what else about the story and lore will be discarded. Makes it hard to get into a game when it doesn't look like the developers have any direction for it.
-
2 RepliesEdited by The Boss Harmony: 6/16/2017 5:06:07 PMWhat I get from this is: Introducing an enigmatic character, doing nothing to actually show that character and then have her give you a gun and vanish is considered a complete story/character arc at Bungie. Wow.
-
6 RepliesI don't know. Maybe he thinks the playerbase is stupid? With lines like "Throw money at the screen" And quotes like "We are removing elemental primaries to promote weapon diversity" We all know how that second one went.
-
4 RepliesLuke Smith has always been a downer and seems to enjoy self destruction of a game he's supposed to help build up.
-
2 RepliesCan't stand that guy. As I said in another thread, I hope he shits a cactus.
-
Pretty stupid imo. Power ammo and 4v4 only D2 will suck

Edited by OddByChoice: 6/17/2017 5:10:57 PMI agree. But I don't think it's Bungie's intention or purpose to shaft us. That being said, it isn't a "new" occurrence though. And to those saying people like the OP are complaining or can't be pleased. The main reason for the hate that Destiny's story gets, is the lack there of. Not the story itself. So to nix everything when you have barely have anything to build upon is kind of stupid. For those who don't get why the OP and people like them are upset I'll use an example to simplify it: Destiny is like a Sweet Tea you'd order at a diner. You get it, you taste, and it's sweet, but overall still kind of bland. But it doesn't mean you want a brand new drink. You just want a bit more flavor. So what do you do? You ask for a lemon wedge and use a couple sugar packets and you right as rain.
Just my opinion though.
Edit: With all that's being said about Destiny's lack of initial story, we have to remember it's subject to change or get better. Look at TTK and RoI as an example. We're only approaching 4yrs in this supposed 10yr journey.

I'm just hoping beyond all logic that he's full of it, and that we'll see her in the Osiris or Rasputin DLC we're getting as their new interactive character (think Eris, but for D2). It's not as though they'd have trouble getting the Stranger's voice actress to come back. She's stated in multiple interviews how amazing it was to be apart of the creative process.
*giraffe noise*
5 RepliesSorry. I don't really care. I'll just play the beta and if I like it I'll buy it, if I don't then I won't. It's really THAT simple.
-
1 ReplyConsidering he was the lead of the 2 best raids in Destiny 1, I think people should let him be. He's doing fine
-
3 RepliesAll I know about the guy is he's fat as -blam!-....... Doesn't take away the fact that he creates a great game though.

yes he is...
