Especially when your company grossed 6 BILLION alone last year.
Face it. We're in for the same connection shit storm that plagued both pvp and pve. But hey atleast we have in game match making and treasure hunts!
Edit: Trending, yay
Edit: Still trending. Coz baby let's get pizza
Edit: can y'all please start using some logic for your argument? It's 2017 there's literally no excuse for your stupidity anymore.

7 RepliesHere's what makes me laugh. People want destiny to have dedicated servers right? They say it's totally unacceptable. They base it's unacceptability on premisses set by other games. They aren't playing those other games. They are playing destiny. They're playing destiny, because overall it shits on all those other games. What have we learnt? Bungie don't need to do anything you say or demand, know why? Because they've created yet another genre defining game for the ages. Either buy what they're offering, or go play your subpar, inferior games on your fantastic dedicated servers.

3 RepliesBungie developed a hybrid P2P system. They created it. They patented it. They will keep using it because they patented it. Give your consoles a dedicated IP address, open your ports and hardwire in and everything will be better. SBMM was the problem not the P2P system. When you were connected with someone in the same region as you live in there was zero issues unless someone was DDOS ing. Their current system will remain in place. Bungie has invested too much money into it. My internet is 100 down 10 up and my ping from dallas to LA is under 50ms.

Actually Destiny servers are in Reno NV and if an earthquake happens there guess what were not playing ERROR CODE ARKHASBROKEN

Not buying d2. They aren't even upgrading their code, they're playing with "parameters" that made absolutely no difference to any of d1. If playing with parameters solved anything then PvP wouldn't be the shitty laggy crap that it is.

5 RepliesTheir GROSS income was 6 billion. That number doesn't really mean much. Between the expenses of making Destiny 2, taxes, salaries, and other revenues, the net income (or the amount of profit they actually make after all the expenses are cut out) is much lower than 6 billion.

67 RepliesEdited by DanthemanXox: 5/21/2017 1:28:05 AMYou know what's -blam!-ed. Battlefield 1 runs smooth and beautifully on console with 60 fps with 16v16 and destiny 2 can't run 60 fps with 4v4. What the -blam!-?! Edit.1 I only used battlefield 1 as a example there are plenty of other games out there that run 60 fps and have tons of graphically elements going on at once. I also could of used battlefield 4 as a example. If you guys and gals played bf4, they have a level where a whole building gets leveled at some point. And the game does not crash at all, maybe with the odd frame rate drops but that's a given it's a launch title. Yes battlefield 4 had a rough launch but so did destiny 1. Edit.2 To be honest I really wanted them to bring a Big Team Battle style of mode in this new game. With tanks, sparrow battles and all the chaos that ensues with supers and weapons we spawn with. I know I could play halo but I've already done that. I want something new from the original developer of halo. Sucks because Sony fans cant experience what I experienced long time ago Edit. 3 sorry for the spam on the other threads but I wanted to get my word out!

2 RepliesAs long as their are people, there will be stupidity.
-
Bump. This is one of the only things holding Destiny back and they couldn't even deliver. Activision are greedy -blam!-s!
-
8 RepliesNo Dedicated Servers?! You guys are unbelievable. You must love the lag so much. Shoving laggy shitty SBMM down our throats while bleeding morons dry with you pay to win bullshit and you can't even fork out for some dedicated server. Pathetic.
Dedicated Servers are the industry Standard for MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) FPS (First Person Shooter) games NOT a p2p system. The link summarizes why and how it effects PvE and PvP: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/227233368/0/0
11 RepliesWhich games currently have dedicated servers? is there a huge difference ? Also 4v4 should help
-
31 RepliesYup. It's official that EA is a better publisher than Activision. Bungie & Activision have just told us in the clearest terms that they don't give a crap about providing us with the best experience.
-
More money they save the more they can put in their pockets ya know
-
People go on about servers for pvp, i would like them for pve so i can raid without team mates lagging out
-
40 RepliesThere is no excuse. They are choosing to maintain an inferior product over what would probably be console market dominance. And how -blam!-ing dumb do you have to be to come on this post, defend no DS and shit on everyone who "doesn't understand business"? Like are you actually glad that they may well deliver another shitty laggy PvP?
-
9 RepliesGame companies less than half of Bungie/Activisions size can afford dedicated servers, at far more players than 4 vs 4..... Absolutely no excuse as far as I'm concerned either..... I don't understand how people can defend this decision after seeing the crucible for three years.

Edited by SolarCerberuS: 5/22/2017 11:19:17 AMone word when it comes to Antivi$ion and that is SHAREHOLDERS, your dedicated servers would mean shorter straws in their cocktails.

I'm pretty sure they do have an excuse actually.
-
4 Repliesdedicated servers? do we have to pay monthly subscription dollars?
-
3 RepliesSo tired of people getting randomly kicked from raids getting baboon or some other error code. We need dedicated servers.

Bungie is not doing dedicated servers when nearly every other modern FPS uses dedicated servers. They are being stingy with their money.
Peer-to-peer is generally considered obsolete for action games, but it still common in the real-time strategy genre due to its suitability for games with large numbers of tokens and small numbers of players. Instead of constantly transmitting the positions of 1000 troops, the game can make a one-off transmission of the fact that 1000 troops are selected and that the player in command of them just issued a move order.[4] However, peer-to-peer has many disadvantages:[4] It is very difficult to keep all peers synchronised. Minute differences between peers can escalate over time to game-breaking paradoxes. It is very difficult to support new peers joining part-way through a game. Each peer must communicate with all other peers, limiting the number of connected players.[3] Each peer must wait for every other peer's message before simulating the next "network frame", resulting in all players experiencing the same latency as the player with the worst connection.
3 RepliesD1 was highly successful with p2p. Why spend more to provide dedicated servers when D2 will sell a ton of copies too? More profit is all they care about. Can't blame them. Don't like it, go play another game. Millions of others will still buy D2 and the people complaining about the lack of dedicated servers will still be playing and complaining too, watch.

I can actually think of a few... -Cost, but let's be honest here... -Server Provision to wider areas. -Server Maintenance Cost, but again, let's be honest here... -Secure Server Connection -Server Security Protocols That's about it really.
