Hand Cannons: Range vs Stability

Hello Guardians. I went into a private match with a buddy and we messed around with different hand cannons. We used your typical Palindrome with range, sureshot, rifled and got what you would expect. I then tried something different, at least for me. Luna with range, truesight, and braced frame. Jacking the stability through the roof. It lost headshot damage at range but still killed in 3 shots. Only ran a few tests at different times and then had a full go with it in a salvage match and the results were interesting enough to try out this week. My question is in this meta do you fellow Guardians think stability like that makes for a better HC or is the status quo still the status quo. Appreciate any feedback.

Hand cannons as a whole need a solid 15% damage reduction or 20% stability reduction because at the moment 2 headshots is far too easy and has really ruined the crucible. Either that or they just get rid of luck in the chamber. Scout and Auto and pulse rifles are currently pretty balanced at the moment if they just give a nerf to HC's then we will finally have a half balanced crucible.

    • Hand cannons don't need stability, at all... If you can control hand cannon recoil, use another type of weapon lol Even zero stability hand cannons are easy to control....

    • palindrome kicks pretty heavily for me. Ill equipt my go to right now. It has decent range, and no stability perks. I went for hidden hand so i can quite my targets faster and easier with a high reward weapon. Basically ive tried reduciing risk. My luna is a perfect stability roll and i find that its just much better to go full on vladof in gun fights at my level of play. Players are far too accurate to try and pace your shots with, so ive opt my pali for quick allocation in getting my shots first And my luna for when i know im gonna have to fire quickly to take the opponent out as fast as possible.

On a handcannon like palindrome, stability don't matter because how high its recoil direction is. It's almost as if you are using a handcannon with max or nearly maxed stability combined with max range. No point of going for stability. And on top of that, it's super accessible. This is why palindrome is so overused.

      • Stability is getting less kick from firing repeatedly but the more range you have the longer the distance is which max damage can be achieved at. I find that Luna beats any other hand cannon cause it has the most range and stability of any hand cannon in it's class.

      • I prefer a balance of Stability and range. Not just flat out range+range. I have a blistering Devil you Know with tons of stability, but lacks in the range department. That's my go-to Crucible HC.

            • From all the stupid nerfs to handcannons, the range stat is the only thing that people need to worry about since dmg drop off is so extreme. I'd love to use stability perks but there is no point now.
