There is an issue that I have discovered with the changes to Blink in the 2.5.0.2 sandbox update(the one that made the HUD disappear).
This past Saturday, I was testing the buffed Astocyte Verse Warlock helmet to see if it's worth using at all now. I had my friend body-shot me with a sniper and then I would wait for my health to start recovering before I Blink to add the Recovery boost.
Issue: The HUD disappearing interrupts health recuperation until it has reappeared on screen
My Results: The newly buffed recovery boost from Astrocyte Verse is actually quite substantial and COULD be very useful if is weren't for this issue, because the recovery boost only lasts a tad longer than the time for the HUD to become visible again.
Can I please get confirmation that this is an actual issue and not just my eyes playing tricks on me?
EDIT: After retrying the helmet, it appears that your health doesn't get interrupted during Blink-HUD-removal, but the Astrocyte Verse is still useless regardless of its recent buff because of how short the the recovery buff it gives you lasts.

1 ReplyYou say that like is was usable prior to these changes...
-
The best looking exotics always are terrible.
-
3 RepliesFML just when I thought Astrocyte was going to be a decent helmet. *sigh* well, at least I can still look fabulous wearing the best warlock helmet in the game
-
1 ReplyRemember when astrocyte verse was supposed to make blink good again? Pepperidge farm remembers.

6 RepliesBlink never should have been nerfed and I'm going back to the original Nerf as well.

Edited by : ^ ): 4/14/2017 12:45:04 AMThey should completely rework it as an exotic to begin with. An exotic I've always wanted was to be able to resurrect a team-mate instead of myself. It would need to be activatable within a small radius and maybe make it a channelled ability to make it not overpowered. It would still fit the theme of the helmet imo.

8 RepliesLets be real we were all using Ophidian Aspects any way lol

2 RepliesEdited by Soul_Eater_42: 4/10/2017 8:46:56 PMEven worse when you realize that the Recovery increase only works when your health starts recovering. It doesn't change the time it takes for the health recovery to start, only how fast the meter moves when it does. Not only that, but the effect only lasts for 3 seconds after Blink. In other words, if you use Blink right after taking damage, the Recovery boost will run out before your health regen even begins. It was a useless Exotic from the beginning, and the recent buff to it is meaningless as a result. All because they decided to make a last minute change (seemingly without any testing whatsoever) before releasing it into the game rather than keep the original perk, which was an enhancement to Blink. Typical Bungie. They really dropped the ball on this game. A shame that the good half of their team quit, or were fired. The remaining people are utterly incompetent and lazy.

The only thing that exptoc has going for it is its look, otherwise ot os complete garbage and should have been completely reworked.

Edited by DJDeath24: 4/13/2017 12:23:58 AMThe recovery boost doesn't last long enough to finish regenerating your health unless you time your blink perfectly. Its working "as intended". That is to say it barely works. Patrick casey did a youtube video on it the other day. I recommend watching his testing of it. Ill edit the link in later. Edit: Added link but its not patrick casey it's falloutplays. Still a great vid imho

2 RepliesAstrocyte Verse was and continues to be useless. Nothing changed with the last patch - it's a dead exotic. Warlocks have spiffy boots that are literally THE best exotic to use. Those boots do everything.
-
Doesn't sound very exotic to me...:(
-
The exotic is already useless so what's new.
-
Quite sad. Bungie won't care enough to warrant a change. I doubt theyll even come out with another patch, or update for Destiny 1
-
3 RepliesI think that knucklehead radar and astrocyte verse need their exotic perks changed to allow you to maintain your hud after a blink.

12 RepliesIt might be an issue. But I have been running a full recovery voidwalker with the Fellwinter artifact with Astrocyte Verse. In PvE it seems to be working really well. Takes about 4-5 seconds to get back to full health. What you said could still be an issue and if it is then the recovery time would go down to about 3 seconds or so. That would be nice.

2 RepliesLol there is only one truly useless exotic in the game that needs a buff and that's the Eternal war helm. That thing has been broken for over 2 years
-
1 ReplyNot sure why blink even got nerfed.
-
22 RepliesBlink should just be removed from the game.
-
'how do we make astorcyte verse viable? ' ' give it for more recovery but don't fix the buff window' LOGIC

Issue: The HUD disappearing interrupts health recuperation until it has reappeared on screen
I find it really hard to believe this bug exists.

Just wait for D2....

2 RepliesIt sounds like an issue, but I'm not sure how much more work they will put into Destiny 1.
