I'm looking to farm some vendor packages for a good scout for PVE, what do you guys think on perks? I currently have a "The Wounded" with Firefly, explosive rounds and some other stuff which is nice, but as I understand the explosive rounds sometimes cancels out the Firefly affect.
What's your idea of a perfect PVE scout?

Yup explosive rounds firefly triple tap...hcr and / or outlaw is also another good option.

Triple tap, firefly, crowd control,

14 RepliesIf only you could get the OG hung jury. Triple tap, extended mag, firefly, and a good scope. The perfect raiding primary.

I have a wounded with triple tap, explosive rounds and firefly. It's awesome for crowd control and the triple tap/explosive round combo is great against bosses.
-
I look at fire rate / rounds in the mag and stability first along with a decent scop. triple tap, explosive round (do more damage on everything), zen moment (on a bouncy scout), perks with quicker reload, 3rd eye, life support. It really depends on the situation or what you are doing.

Hand laid stock, firefly, crowd control, feedings frenzy, some people like explosive rounds, use whatever sight suits you. Anything else is an auto dismantle.
-
I have a Not Like The Others scout rifle that I used in TTK. Zen Moment, Explosive Rounds/Rifled Barrel/Will Of Light, Firefly. It's pretty good.

Triple tap explosive rounds and army of one on my badger. Fav for pve

Blowy up bullets, lotsa bullets and big damage bullets

Edited by Oppress0r: 3/8/2017 3:50:32 PMThe 4 scouts I like that I use in pve apart from the obvious original hung jury are. Keystone. Triple tap/explosive rounds and hidden hand Treads. Eye of the storm/explosive rounds/outlaw. Not like the others Zen moment /explosive rounds/outlaw. Cryptic Dragon Crowd control/field scout or high cal/firefly.

5 RepliesEdited by Wreck: 3/8/2017 3:33:24 PMWith almost 100K kills with Scout Rifles in PvE I prefer a few perks. - Firefly - is almost a must and most players will recommend it on any weapon you get for PvE, not just Scout Rifles. The added damage caused by Firefly's explosion perk can't be beaten by any other perk and is so useful when fighting large groups of enemies. - Crowd Control - is also extremely nice and adds a decent amount of extra damage after a kill. If you're able to get Crowd Control along with Firefly on a Scout you'll be melting enemies like butter. - Extended Mag / Triple Tap are good as well. Personally, I prefer Extended Mag for two reasons. Extended Mag does NOT take up a unique weapon perk slot and you also don't have to rely on stacking precision shots in order to get a larger magazine size by returning ammo to the mag. Triple Tap is useful for end bosses, but again you need to land those precision shots in order to get ammo back. - Life Support - is also an extremely useful and overlooked perk as well. If you're constantly engaging and killing enemies you almost will always regenerate your health if you are ever critically wounded. This perk is especially useful on those large groups of low level adds like shanks, dregs, acolytes, etc. Also, for those encounters where you don't regenerate your health like certain Strikes/Nightfalls or Crota's End Raid, a weapon that has Life Support can really save your life. - Outlaw - is okay if you aren't able to get Scout Rifle reload gloves and/or you have a combination of the other of perks mentioned above along with it. The faster you can reload the faster you can crank out bullets. Most Scouts have a decent reload time as it is and Outlaw is typically more useful in Hand Cannons. - Full Auto - is nice for those faster rof Scouts or for those people who don't like to constantly pull the trigger. Personally, I find Full Auto to be a more wasteful perk unless you aren't able to get a better perk to replace it. - Hand Laid Stock - Adds typically almost twice the stability onto a Scout Rifle and turns virtually every rifle into a laser beam. If you can get HLS on a Scout you'll be popping heads that much easier. And for the Scouts for PVE... I prefer the Hung Jury SR4, Cryptic Dragon, Sat. Rapier, and then Treads Upon Stars. Hope this helps!

Knee pads, gorilla fighter and spray and pray. God roll

I like auto or army of one on scout rifle if you going use it on PvP modes. But for PvE, life support and firefly is usefull. I know bungie nerf life support but you might need it if you are very low on health.

5 Replies246,000 + scout kills and I think: Crowd Control Explosive Rounds Outlaw
-
2 RepliesFWC imo, has the best scout rifle rolls happening right now, plus The Wounded is the same archetype as VoC. I have one with Full Auto, Ext Mag and Firefly, 2nd with Full Auto, Outlaw and Crowd Control, I have two with Firefly, Outlaw and HCR. Don't get me started on The Wail HC they have, the only place to get a near Fakebringer, gotten two of those, best one with Sureshot, Outlaw, Firefly and Explosive Rounds.

Explosive rounds is always good.
-
Ive got a distant star with explosive rounds, firefly and hand laid stock
-
Explosive Rounds is a good perk. Firefly is a good perk. When paired together you don't get the full benefit of either when it comes to damage.. The Hero Formula, available from the Crucible Vendor is a hidden gem. Cryptic Dragon and The Burning Eye are also Top Tier. In year 3 the best PVE scouts are the one's that hold the most bullets in the clip, most stability, coupled w/either explosive rounds or firefly. Some will say Triple Tap is good, and it is, especially for raids or higher level adds. Explosive Rounds is better and Firefly is more fun IMO. Over 200,000 scout kills and counting.

Firefly Triple Tap Outlaw Explosive Rounds HLS

I like full auto cause im lazy, but I really loved my year 1 Dead Orbit scout with fullauto and explosive rounds. Forgot the third perk though.
-
Triple tap is good with frefly but need a stability perk.

Crowd Control, Explosive Rounds, Reactive Reload
