Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014:
"In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."

Well, another great lie from Bungle exposed.
Here in December 2014, bungie goes out of their way to clarify that "100% of your progress will carry over into the sequel".
Better yet, remember when deej said the year 1 guardians will be showing off their emblems to the year 10 guardians?
Hahaha nope.
Feel bad for those who wasted real world money on imaginary items from the eververse, that they can't take into destiny 2? I don't. Typical bungle screwing over the most devoted customers, again, and again.
What makes me mad is the 70+ vault of glass raids I put in to get the praetorian foil. Or how I worked so hard to collect all the raid arbor and weapons, only for it all to be for nothing.
-blam!- you bungie.
You've totally broken trust with your customers and wasted our time.
Why the hell should we put time into destiny 2, when we can't bring our hard work into destiny 3?
-blam!- you. I'm done.

Bye. Don't come back either or you're not just a cry baby, you're a liar too.
-
Every body is putting up hate mail INCLUDING ME... but i must say, how many games have such a giant player base after 3 years of playtime? Not many
-
Man just shut up. Seriously shut it !!! These stupid posts are worthless and NOBODY -blam!-ING CARES .

7 RepliesEdited by KayOsS882: 3/5/2017 5:59:09 PMWhat other games with sequels let you carry over your progress? It's not what's at the end, it's the journey that you took. All the items you've earned are part of the journey and should be just a token of your establishment. Now that a sequel is coming out, you should leave those behind and start a new journey because there are new things to earn.

An article from almost 3 years ago. Oh boy, that's credible.
-
Very little that we did was respected by the company. Taking our guns away and then making us reacquire the ones they saw fit to rerelease is a prime example. The game has taken a nose dive since House of Wolves.
-
Meh,, plans change.
-
Thank you for bringing this topic up.

18 RepliesI hate that this is still trending. Complete lie. This was Bungie response moving from Y1 to Y2 (TTK). It has NOTHING to do with a sequel.
-
So you take a quote that happened 3 months after release (before Destiny 2 was even in production or on anyone's radar) and apply it to an actual sequel that's releasing 3 years later? The beginning of the quote literally says "in the months to come" and it's glaringly obvious they are talking about expansions. They ended up lying about equipment carrying over to expansions but that's a dead horse at this point. Please tell me why a full on sequel (not an expansion) should carry anything over? Did you expect Destiny 2 to release and you're at max level with a vault full of weapons and gear to choose from? Never mind the disaster that would occur from actually implementing something like that but WHY in the world would you want to start off in a new game with a full set of gear and weapons? Isn't that why we play these games? For the chase?

7 RepliesWith Friday's TWAB, the former tag line "Become Legend" should really now be changed to "Become Irrelevant". Nothing you do matters. It will all be reset with each "new game". There is literally no point to grind for things. You're going to lose it all except your "appearance" every 2-3 years.

Things like this are the reasons I just can't keep playing Destiny. I understand the game can change drastically during the development process, but continuing to blatantly lie to your fan base is reprehensible. The fact that they continue to release content that is different during announcement than final product is a prime example. Especially, when they are not transparent about these changes. These content "additions" only serve to alienate the community that is necessary for a game such as Destiny to survive. Conversations comparing Warframe with Destiny should focus on the Devs' communication with the player base which when compared with the Devs' responding and actually communicating what and why Warframe gets 5 stars while Destiny would get a disappointing 1.5 stars only because of the quality of the game...
-
2 RepliesBump. I simply stopped playing.
-
"How did you get that gun, the FATEBRINGER?" You'll say "Here, LET ME SHOW YOU" - Deej Lol Bungie really needs to get their heads out of their asses or get a community manager that doesn't constant spout lies.
-
Haha bye scrub
-
1 ReplyO no they changed their minds based on how the game and its player base progressed in the hopes of having a better sequel. Geeee.
-
3 RepliesHere is hoping all you eververse suckers are mad enough to not buy d2. Maybe then we will see the energy that goes into that crap be diverted to actual content.

Opinions and beliefs change with the passage of time. To decry Bungie for statements years old is both immature and inappropriate. Im fine with a fresh start. Just the other day I was relishing the first moments of discovery. The game is bland at the moment, too much of a good thing is unpleasant. Im on a hiatus and was actually considering a full abandonment. Now, however, I am excited. Excited by the prospect of discovery and all the emotions tied to that experience.
-
i put money into eververse and in all honesty im not worried about losing any of it. All of that stuff bettered my experience in Destiny 1 and im looking forward to a greater experience in Destiny 2
-
They said the same thing about the old raid gear in the TTK reveal.
-
I think they got the numbers wrong again It was actually 0.100%
-
3 RepliesI wasn't able to bring anything from 1000+ plus hrs of Fallout 3 into fallout 4. Its not about possessions its about the journey. Its a sequel not an expansion. Everyone would be complaining if in D2 u kept all d1 stuff. complaining "its not a real sequel ints just a reskin.
-
They said that in 2014 and its 2017 the game has changed. They also realized that if you kept your gear in destiny 2 you'd finish all the content in a week
if it's anything like everything else bungie has released

also before someone says "oh another suck up to bungie who thinks they are flawless" I would let that person know that what I stated in this post is just common sense
-
2 RepliesI agree. Unfortunately, we have to just get used to Bungie's lies or "alternative facts."
-
So bungie lies to us again and again. I've come to expect lies and trolling and disapointment from bungie. Oh and let's not forget the bungie fav nerf nerf nerf.
