I feel like a lot of people just hit their Destiny breaking point
we have been saying this same thing for almost a year now and have gotten a few snarky comments from various higher ups at bungie. This is of course after they lied to us for a few months to "get better data" and promised a culture change after they got rid of their CEO.

What we got was the same thing we had before with a few more scraps right after the CEO change to make us feel good while the majority of our information has come from Kotaku leaks, all of which have been right so far, and hardly anything from bungie except right when their marketing team gets the ball rolling to make some money.
The SBMM has been an issue for a while and there are players on both sides that want it and dont want it for the wrong reasons. Why I dont want it, and why a lot of the more intelligent (intelligent meaning those that want it removed for the right reasons) members dont want it, is that SBMM isnt a bad thing but the game just cant handle its implementation. It is a bad thing when it is implemented poorly into a system that cant really support it which Destiny and it's bad netcode cannot. There really is no way to spin the fact that destiny doesnt have good connections and has never had good connections. It is just getting amplified for a lot of us and it is going to get worse and worse as the population falls off over this year.
I think at this point every one realizes that we are going to get absolutely nothing this next year just like we got absolutely nothing last year and they are fed up with it. They need to have some sort of culture change at Bungie and realize they have to be more open about things like a lot of other developers are.
We arent being toddlers we are just sick of being ignored and feeling like our concerns have fallen on deaf ears.
Edit: Not trying to say SBMM is a bad thing. It cant be good for the game, it is just implemented poorly right now and it is amplifying connection issues for a lot of players. It needs scaled back a bit so that we can get better connections and the issues are only going to get worse for even those around 1.0k/d as the player base drops

SBMM is kinda ruining my fun Poor connection makes most kills a trade, or a win/loss that you feel you shouldnt have had Since they replaced CBMM with SBMM my KD on my main has dropped ~.8 Yet again i stopped playing crucible religiously too so I definitely wasn't on my peak so im not going to say SBMM is why im doing bad But its definitely kind of aggravating when youre meleeing someone over and over again and then you die to something stupid like a sword hilt while they teleport away as if nothing happened

As all 3 of my characters are 400 now all that is left to do in Destiny is complete Raid boss challenge and then I will truly hit a wall. I learned from last year not to hang around hoping for a bit of news, or a hint of a content drop. I will simply go to another game till Destiny has something new to do. I held my belief in Bungie last year and ended up being disappointed and salty. I will not repeat the same mistake. Once they have content to be played I will come back, till then I will be earning my stripes in Division, Battlefield , and Mass Effect.

I upgraded my WiFi, now I pretty much never get kicked (I don't even think I've been kicked from anything for the last month or so.)

1 ReplyI quit, I simply can't deal with the bullshit that comes with playing this game. I -blam!-ing hate saying that because Destiny IS my favorite game and i've been playing it consistently for three years now. But I just can't deal with all the baggage that comes with being an avid Destiny player anymore. I hope Bungie starts fixing shit, adding new shit and actually giving a shit about their community but until then i've got to go.

1 ReplyWhile I also would personally like to see if they can create a better system than the one in place to blend sbmm with connection based(leaning stronger on connection than skill) I know this prolly isnt as easy as it sounds. Also just a note, even if you didnt really mean it in a negative connotation, when you say things like "more intelligent members" that can be taken as anyone who doesn't agree with you on this is less intelligent. So it might turn some people away as they'd find it insulting.

3 RepliesYou have a point, I am a day 1 player, played destiny a lot, but as it is expected, I slowly stopped playing it, to a point that I stopped playing the game 1-2 months before RoI was released. Last week was my last week playing Destiny, since the WoTM Aksis challenge was released and completed there is no reason for me to play PvE anymore, the game is just too repetitive and the new content is just not exciting anymore. So the only thing to do is play PvP, which is another problem since it is a very frustrating experience, it is not whether I lose or win, or if I get my arse handed over by another player, is that the game is inconsistent, one moment I am enjoying a game where most of my shots land as expected, the next one I can't even kill a guy standing in front of me 1 meter away from my shotgun. This generates a bad atmosphere, I get angry and frustrated when I am put in a game with 3-4 red bars on the opposite team, and sometimes they are not even red barring and I still know there is something odd going on since my shots dont land, players can kill me before I turn a corner etc. Therefore I am off from destiny for a bit, SLR will probably not make me want to play it either so I am guess I wont be coming back until the next DLC (if any) otherwise until destiny 2.
