we have been saying this same thing for almost a year now and have gotten a few snarky comments from various higher ups at bungie. This is of course after they lied to us for a few months to "get better data" and promised a culture change after they got rid of their CEO.
https://youtu.be/_XQItaZN5Xc
what im about to say in video form if you dont want to read it
What we got was the same thing we had before with a few more scraps right after the CEO change to make us feel good while the majority of our information has come from Kotaku leaks, all of which have been right so far, and hardly anything from bungie except right when their marketing team gets the ball rolling to make some money.
The SBMM has been an issue for a while and there are players on both sides that want it and dont want it for the wrong reasons. Why I dont want it, and why a lot of the more intelligent (intelligent meaning those that want it removed for the right reasons) members dont want it, is that SBMM isnt a bad thing but the game just cant handle its implementation. It is a bad thing when it is implemented poorly into a system that cant really support it which Destiny and it's bad netcode cannot. There really is no way to spin the fact that destiny doesnt have good connections and has never had good connections. It is just getting amplified for a lot of us and it is going to get worse and worse as the population falls off over this year.
I think at this point every one realizes that we are going to get absolutely nothing this next year just like we got absolutely nothing last year and they are fed up with it. They need to have some sort of culture change at Bungie and realize they have to be more open about things like a lot of other developers are.
We arent being toddlers we are just sick of being ignored and feeling like our concerns have fallen on deaf ears.
Edit: Not trying to say SBMM is a bad thing. It cant be good for the game, it is just implemented poorly right now and it is amplifying connection issues for a lot of players. It needs scaled back a bit so that we can get better connections and the issues are only going to get worse for even those around 1.0k/d as the player base drops
Edit 2: based Deej does this satisfy you
Edit 3: TwaB contradicts everything else they have said over this past year. GG

I bought titan fall 2 after the last 3 weeks of trials. I 'll still play Destiny but I personally needed a break for a bit.

1 ReplyGot full sets of raid ornaments on both accounts (2 psn's) I'm Done..Time to get back into PC gaming and modding Consoles.

I think almost everyone's to their breaking point now. There's just nothing to do anymore..I felt like RoI died out very fast and Festival Of the Lost was a very big let down. My guardians are on hold for a while until something worth getting back on for is released. Hopefully this big update that's supposedly going to happen next year (bringing back VoG) will actually happen.

I play destiny mostly for pvp. The lag has ruined it for me. The frequent disconnections have ruined it for me. Playing trials and getting booted after 4 rounds has ruined it. Not being able to play properly with two players on the same connection has ruined it for me. Playing rumble where every single match is so sweaty that you can't even play casual anymore has ruined it for me. Juggernaut Titans and shotgun rushers have messed up the crucible. What's a primary weapon? Clever dragon has made all other primary weapons obsolete. So much for diversity. All hakke weapons are trash. Most exotic weapons are trash because they cannot compete at high level play. Trials has been crap over the last three weeks. Iron banner is so unevenly matched that I go on 10 game losing streaks OFTEN. This is my breaking point. I'm getting a new game come Black Friday. I haven't played any other video game since destiny released but now it's time to take a break.

2 RepliesIm feeling like im getting their the same way, im thinking about buying a gaming pc and just being done with destiny, as i usually only play that

Couple of weeks ago, fun was gone.

1 ReplyI just deleted Destiny from my Hard Drive last night after running BF1 with some of my friends I use to Play Destiny with. I hit this wall where PVP itself is just too god damn sweaty now... the introduction of the Clever Dragon in this last IB fueled this even more. Low Impact Pulses dominate. It's just not fun going into matches anymore. And for what? High Light Level gear? I went to the Lighhouse on Twilight Gap and have played Trials since but not nearly as sweaty. But the sweat is real. I have no interest in doing the Raid over and over and over again for silly ornaments tied to RNG. Raiding lost it's fun and WOTM is too damn easy. I also have no motivation to come here or LFG to find a team for it anymore. I might come back after the next weapon balance, but for now, it's BF1 and my collection of single player games I have ignored.
-
My breaking point was weapon balance, in the pre taken king you had weapons for everything crotas word, black hammer, ice breaker, ghore, ext. Afterward my load out felt more like I was getting ready to play hardcore team death match; on strikes.

Yup, my friend and I who have been playing since the beta pretty much gave up on this game. I still hop on the forums to see what's new, but I think at this point I should enjoy all these other great games that are out and eagerly await until the Destiny 2 trailer gets released. That's when I'm hopping back on the hype train.

Not sure what has happened since the last update thing last week but i can't for the life of me seem to find a good game. The connections have been completely -blam!-ed and iron banner was a joke (again). btw i haven't been able to find a game ff classic 6v6 since then either. Fix yo shit already!

1 ReplyFor me it wasn't one action from Bungie that made me quit. I feel like I was slowly being pushed away by Bungie with every unnecessary nerf, every time they ignored our concerns, every time a cheater went unpunished. Sure most of the company is busy working on Destiny 2, but that can't explain the poor state of Destiny. Every match I went into there were at least 5 Matadors. And when people used primaries it's a high flinch/high ROF pulse rifle that is difficult to counter. This past Iron Banner certainly helped nothing. I just hope Bungie doesn't make the same mistakes in Destiny 2.

1 ReplyEdited by Esposito99: 11/16/2016 2:45:57 AMI play alot of destiny almost every night and enjoy all game modes. I don't care about snipers or shottys in pvp and was never in favor of ne Nerf but as I write this post in trying to think of a reason to turn destiny on. Sad day

1 ReplyMy clan went from playing to back to abandoning Destiny almost as soon as we beat hard mode
-
People are just getting sick and tired of bungie B.s.
-
4 RepliesThere's been plenty of excellent suggestions to solve crucible issues over the last few years but for some reason, Bungie is just dragging their feet in the mud about it. The best one that comes to mind about trials is once you go flawless, you get put into a different matchmaking. Sbmm or Cbmm is flawed in their own ways, i think they should revert back to a mix of both. I doubt Bungie will get dedicated servers at this late stage of Destiny 1. Perhaps Bungie should adopt Starcraft style matchmaking and create different leagues for different regions? Like Nth America, Asia, Europe etc Just my 2 cents.

5 RepliesAs a ~1.0 kd player I can confirm this. It is getting so much harder for me to win matches. I feel way out skilled and I NEVER feel like I get players my skill level or lower.
-
welp, new pokemon game coming out, skyrim and ffxv. gonna try to take a break from destiny, this game has become more stress than fun in the last year.
-
1 ReplyWe need CBMM. Them we make playlist casual and intense

The last paragraph was the best of your post. I am a believer that SBMM is good for the game, but they need make some changes to prevent people from being matched up with players oversees. First thing that should be looked at is region/location, then connection, then skill. The skill requirements should be softened based on the amount of wait time. Players need to realize that there are not guarantees to remove lag 100% of the time. Every multiplayer game I have ever played has had lag at one point or another.

Edited by Dooodley: 11/16/2016 4:29:35 AMI don't believe in sbmm. Yeah, it's probably a parameter in the matchmaking equation but looking how most matches end I'd say that the sbmm impact is so miniscule that's it's practically not a factor. You never had this many lopsided matches in Halo - give or take the first 20 skill levels, when people were still moving up. Once you were at 50 you'd have to play a pro team for it to be lopsided. That said, I think the biggest factor is that the PvE community is dropping off. There's simply nothing to do in PvE so unless you also really like PvP there's no reason to stick around. Outcome, a higher percentage dedicated PvP players in the player pool, resulting in sweatier matches.

Edited by Reubenatrix: 11/16/2016 4:33:06 AMI just wish I could find another game with equally crispy decent weapons (especially hand cannons) and a world I want to experience, explore and build on. Playing to rank up and then delete the weapons and arm bands is getting pretty old. Probably just need another 6 month break. I took a 6 month break as soon as TTK came out because losing my favorite weapons was too big a teeth kick. But when I started playing at April update there was tons to do, till now. That's fine. Time for a break I suppose. I hope it doesn't have to be a 12-18 month break! Seems these kind of posts pop up a month or so after every major update when the content can no longer support 4 hours+ gaming per day and weekends in the dark!
