this has become a very hot topic, everyday ill see another saying they were attacked. and they lost there match. yes it happens but not as frequent as people say on here.
was it an attack or was just a network error?
today im going tell you how you can tell if youve truly been attacked.
1st you'll see your now offline.
2nd it will be hard to get back online, without messing with your connection.
3rd unless you have a separate internet for your console, youll see your entire house become corrupted.
4th all internet linked to the account( wifi devices connected) will be slower or not work when connected to the attacked modem
5th this wont go away on its own
6th you must cleanse the attacked internet device(modem or router, or central wired system) the easiest way is to reset it. if that doesnt work then you were hit by someone who has planted a seed into you device which it assessed your internet from. you must reset that device to get rid that seed
next time you get lagged out of a game just loose connection, but everything else in your house works know you werent attacked just a connection issue. these are common when large memory is being sent through your signal to another then going back ( in that cycle ). it sucks but it happens when theres a strain on the two connects it cuts one end off.
EDIT: since this a semi long post here your potato

-
2 RepliesPlanted a seed into you?
-
Funny thing is it only happens during trials. So to the people saying this isn't true you ddos people. Stfu.
-
3 RepliesUhmmm DoS doesn't knock you offline it just hits you with a bunch of useless packets for a second to get you kicked off DDoS is a constant stream of insane amounts of data to knock your whole internet offline Either is illegal

Bungo's boiler plate response:
Hello Destiny community! Due to a recent resurgence in feedback about “DOSing & DDOSing” we wanted to take a minute to explain how and why the “Bungie's Ban Hammer” in Destiny behaves the way that it does… “Bungie's Ban Hammer” is a community-coined term that is being used to describe the frustration of missing the intended cheaters due to a lack of caring on our part. The cheaters aren’t disappearing, we just aren’t doing anything about it . Internally, we would call this specific aspect of our “Bungie Ban Hammer”, “Apathy,” which is one of the core values embedded deep in Bungie's ethics and Destiny PVP itself. When looking at “Bungie's Ban Hammer” archetypes, we wanted players to feel here at Bungie we are actually unable to identify cheaters because of Bungie's “Apathy”and an very convoluted understanding of how Banning work. Players can make the assumption that we care and Bungie will rectify the issue. These types of distinctive behaviors are of course false and are made fun of in interesting choices within Bungie and we delight in glee that no action is taken. In short, “Bungie's Ban Hammer”, with it's relatively short handle and no head, is not intended to be swung at all. Instead we want you to believe that it is big, heavy, packs a large punch and is "swung often". Always remember: Bungie control's narrative and shut's down any dissident voices so we always (as our friend Variks says) “Kill them dead.” We want to very sincerely say that this communique is meant to be argumentative and belittling of the consistent feedback we’ve received on the subject from you, our loyal and paying customers. Regardless of how “correctly” the “Bungie's Ban Hammer ” systems are working, the core message is that we don't care as long as you continue to "Throw money at the screen" (Don't forget to buy from Eververse!). We hear you and want you to believe that Bungie is improving on your experience, even though we're not trying in the very least. While it’s unlikely that we would care at all, we will investigate alternative options to completely ignore the community about any DDOSing, DOSing, or cheating of any kind. Destiny is a game that will continue to devolve well past Destiny2. Please remember this is our 10 year plan. You are wonderful people, the best community, and passionate about this game, unfortunately we just don't care at all to do anything that doesn't involve making you "Throw money at the screen" (Don't forget to buy from Eververse!) . Thank you for paying, and thank you for paying./quote] And Deej:
Your move...
We got accused of DoSing last night. Their team were the cheats (checked game history) but it backfired and they lost a member. Was funny!

19 RepliesHere's a common list of what I've found: 1. The people who claim to have been DDOS'D are usually average or below average at destiny pvp. 2. The people who claim to have been DDOS'D have only been flawless a handful of times or never at all. 3. The people who claim to have been DDOS'D seem to be frequently linked to posts asking weapons or subclasses to be nerfed as well as how popular game modes should be changed to cater to said nerf posts. Those are just a few things I've encountered. If you fall into any of the aforementioned statements (and I'm sure there are loads more), then you should avoid destiny pvp in order to avoid the potential DDoS because they'll be coming after you. Xoxo

I haven't been lagged out from trials in a while, but I did have one a while back that I posted about. It was like year one trials and we got booted offline one by one, I knew what was happening the moment the second person disconnected from chat and game. We had to reset routers to get back on.
-
This makes sense now. My internet connection was shit for a week and I couldn't figure out why. I had to cal my isp to unlock my modem/router.
-
I keep getting ddos'ed by my isp. I know it's against rules to name and shame but Virgin Media are always knocking my modem offline, They are repeat offenders and nothing ever seems to be done about it. When you call them up and end up talking to a call centre in India then they do a few tests and say everything is fine.
-
Yep happened twice to me. My whole house had internet go out! These scrubs can't win without cheating! I'll make sure to record it next time.
-
2 RepliesI've been DDosed 8 times in a span of 24 minutes
-
Every week since rise of iron

3 RepliesEveryone on these forums throughs around the terms ddos and dos very lightly. Oh, your '""perfect""" internet stopped working? Drop the salt, its a server issue.
-
Not on this account... only lag and latency
-
1 ReplyBad network and trash balancing has caused me to put down destiny again why did i come back i asked myself. Oh well ill play another game with dedicated servers and much more balance. Rip destiny
-
1 ReplyI would say less than 1 percent of people actually experience true hacking. I get lag al the time in my house and I have very great internet speed. If my wife is using Netflix on her iPad...:it's very possible my router will just go nuts and everything shuts off. Only when playing destiny. And only when she's on the iPad. Those are the only times. So I think people should look into their actual network issues first before they start going off the handle about hackers
-
Lol you obviously don't understand it yourself
-
Aksis ddos'd my team last night
-
3 RepliesIT'S JUST UNSTABLE HOST! This is the main reason players get kicked.
-
Are you from 9gag?
-
Trials is an epic mess.
-
got ddosed by people from france while playin trials; internet went down for nine hrs...
-
I haven't been ddos'd since League Play in Black Ops II. Those were some frustrating times and I'm sad to see all that garbage becoming prevalent in ToO. Bungie needs to drop some ban hammers...and fast.
-
This happened to me... had to get the cable company to come to my house and fix all my shit, which in turn -blam!-ed my tv as well. Sad thing is they could have probably beat us, we are not trials pros, just regular dudes trying to get some bounties done
