So my teammates keep getting DoSed out of matches leaving me to face 3v1 against people who my weapons do not affect in the slightest. I wonder if Bungie will ever crack down on the cheating problem this game has.

2 RepliesThe problem IS NOT that there are so many cheaters, DDOS'ers, hackers, etc. The problem is that there are so many people with inconsistent or improperly configured network connections, who read forum posts about cheating and immediately assume that's what's happening. When a teammate lags out, gets kicked yo orbit, etc. So many people jump to the immediate conclusion that there are hackers on the other team. I'd say probably 5-6 times a weekend out of hundreds of rounds of trials, I either play against a team where someone gets kicked or one of my team members gets kicked. These are just anomolies. Now, obviously there are some clear cut cheaters in this game, just go on youtube and type in trials cheaters and you'll see people who get their super 7-8 times a game, or people who don't take damage. Most of these issues are on the ps3 and 360 and nearly every game that supports last gen has issues with these things on old gen consoles. But no, the problem with trials is not that there are too many cheaters, is that there's too many with poor connections to start with. Matchmaking is based on w/l percentage and the amount of wins on your current card. With these standards for matchmaking, it's inevitable that you'll end up playing against someone from across the world a time or two. These matches are usually laggy and people just cry out that they've been hacked. When this happens, and you lose, all you can do is quit or grab another card and give it another go.

27 RepliesEdited by Lugardis: 8/13/2016 12:16:37 AMWhy would they dos you? Your stats aren't really "that good". And if they are able to boot you out why didn't they boot you too? I would advise checking these "cheaters" stats out before making any accusations. It may just have been your internet connection :) Edit. I checked your stats and the enemies. You have only played 4 matches today and in the last match you went 2v3. I don't know why would the enemies dos you as your team wasn't good. I also checked the enemies. They didn't go flawless. They lost 4 games out of 8. If they truly were cheaters why would they lose? Also every game was 3v3 expect you. In conclusion don't say "Trials is littered with cheaters " as it clearly isn't. It was your friends fault he got disconnected. :) Have a nice day!

I disagree. I come across the occasional lagger but overall the connections seem good. I've lost a few players from my team this weekend but not because the other team was cheating. It happens, it's destiny. You can't just report every team you play against because you've lost a player. If I pick a player up on lfg and they show a hint of red bar I'll replace them.

1 ReplyMatching you with much higher kd players should be considered a cheat bungie sucks
-
16 RepliesI've seen a very few amount of cheaters when I play trials. I can count them by hand. The forums make it seem like it's out of hand when it's really not. I'M NOT SUPPORTING CHEATING IN ANY WAY, BUT I'M SAYING THAT THESE CLAIMS HAPPEN WAY TOO OFTEN TO BE TRUE. ~TheGreatNike

Probably because they don't get punished.

We got zee lagg switch last night First match too, one guy just would not die, one would take damage 2 or 3 seconds later and the other we could hit crisply The one kid ate a nova, hit him in the face with it and a smash to the feet in one single round Not to mention the copious amount of cross fire happening on said lagg switcher I reported them as many times as humanly possible
-
I couldn't agree with the OP more. But #bungie doesn't give a rat's buttocks about the cheating. That much is obvious.
-
Edited by Ibex: 8/14/2016 9:11:29 PMI befriend cheaters, and they all say the same thing. They hear that Bungie is too incompetent to enforce any type of preventive or disciplinary action, so they've left other games to come to this "cheat to win" one. Only one has ever been banned.
-
1 Reply3 times this week, 1 ddos, 1 lag switcher, the other was probably just lag all around but hell I lost so I'll claim cheating to make me feel better.
-
Unless you or your friends had your internet go completely down you weren't ddos'd
-
I got kicked to orbit by some japs it's retarded. Bungie can suck my dick
-
I swear sometimes you people find things to bitch about.
-
1 ReplyThe thing is in this forum you will get people saying it doesn't exist or Bungie simply ignores this
-
Completely agree - the number of cheaters makes this amazingly promising game crap ! Seems the best thing is to just not play pvp or if you do... cheat and troll as much as you can cause it's all you can do to be competitive
-
2 RepliesWe got ddos'd last night on xb1. I kept track of their games and every game had 2 members of the opposing team that DNF (did not finish). I recorded it and can't wait to report those scumbags. I feel so bad for everyone who was paired with them.
-
5 RepliesOne time, my teammate was red baring the entire time we were playing so when he finally got kicked, I felt the need to post on the forums and make false claims that everyone is ddosing.
-
Here's what you do...git gud

< ...A team 5-0s your team >They were "cheating" < Goes on forums to complain about...

Carry me, plz!!

3 RepliesOnly ever had one team mate DoSed and that took out his router and required his ISP to do stuff to get fixed. And that's in a whole lot of games. Seen a lot of people lag out though (we always joke that they held their lag switch down too long) but it's probably a combination of crappy net code and problems with their internet. The peer to peer connection thing doesn't help. If my team are in the UK and the other team is on the other side of the world, depending on the host, someone is going to have a bad time.
-
5 Replies- gets headshotted by a sniper - screams about lag and cheaters - to the forums!
-
18 RepliesA DDoS attack does not boot you from the game. A DDoS attack boots you and your ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD from ALL internet services for a period of time dependant on how secure your network infrastructure is. Please undetstand this. If you are getting booted during Trials (or any game activity for that matter) and that is the worst that is happening, then you are NOT under the effects of a DDoS attack.

2 RepliesI have played quite a lot of trials and have maybe run into 2-3 teams that were obviously cheating... I am not saying they dont exist, but it is no where near the problem everyone here on the forums say it is, Alot of it is just the crappy matchmaking this game has and peoples crappy connections. Also alot of the complaints are just excuses for why you cant do well.
-
8 RepliesI've played trials since year 1. I can count the number of times I've ran into lagswitchers/cheaters on one hand..... Just because you disconnect doesn't mean you have been ddosed. If they're red bar and impossible to hit, doesn't mean they're lagswitching. These forums make it feel as if every match to the lighthouse ends with cheaters and that's why they can't make it. Truth is, they probably got outplayed and just cant handle not being good enough to make it.

I've played trials every week on all 3 characters since it was a thing, and have only ever run into 2 cheating teams (and they weren't even connection-cheating, one guy literally had infinite nova bombs). But those are the only 2 I've ever seen across the hundreds of games I've played. I've seen the enemy lagg sometimes, I've seen a teammate lagg sometimes. I've had bungie error codes more than both combined. But never a situation where they were blatantly abusing lagg, etc. People always complain about the enemy team too. I bet if they somehow had one of these "red bar warriors" or "sweaty tryhards" as a teammate, they wouldn't even bat an eye.
