This is ridiculous people are now resorting to modded controllers to win at this game. Pathetic.

2 RepliesConsidering I have a modable controller I think I should give you insight how mine works. I own the Razer Wildcat. It has an extra set of removable triggers I can use or not use. it also has two extra buttons underneath the LB and RB buttons called M1 and M2. These four buttons can be assigned any other button on the controller. Default is Bumpers and Triggers. The Wildcat in peticular also has a switch on either side under the controller that can restrict the movement of the triggers. There are also two button layouts you can setup and swap between as well. Thru lots and lots of experimentation this is very situational in ever needing to change the button loadout as the perks of the gun ESPECIALLY Hair Trigger and MIDA are the only reason you need to use the right side trigger restriction. The left side switch would probably be useful for a quick scope but I'm pretty shitty at sniping. In essence all the controller does is allow me to play to my own playstyle. If I want two firing triggers so i can double tap a high RoF scout then I can do that. if I want to have it so i can quickscope and reload on the same side I can do that too. Moddable controllers only allow you to alter the button layouts or how the buttons are used, not affect the game which is programmed and unchangable unless you hack and force it to. or use a lagswitch which... is rather stupid cause its easily detectable. Learn your differences before you attack Moddable things.

1 ReplyModded controllers can't change the fire rate of any weapon in destiny or give you some kind of wild cheating advantage. That video of the pulse rifle shooting like a high rate of fire auto baffles me, but I can tell you, it's not a controller that does that. Maybe you should do a little research before you come to the forums and make accusations about modded controllers. The game has its own limitations that modded controllers can't circumvent. I am really curious to know what that jackholes was using that changed fire rate. That was game breaking cheating all the way.

3 RepliesEdited by SmashvilleViking: 8/11/2016 10:06:29 PMAs far as I know, this is supposed to be a bannable offense. The problem is proving that they are using a modded controller. Edit: It is bannable https://www.bungie.net/en/help/article/11929

8 RepliesUh.... I hate to break it to you but you can't modify Destiny like that.. Each gun is set to shoot at a certain speed that cannot be increased because of mods.
-
42 RepliesAlmost nobody uses controllers like that, and even if they did, they wouldn't have unfair advantage.

NEW FEATURE IN DESTINY SHAXX COURTS JUDGE:SHAXX JURY: CHEATERS the cheaters will be the people that get reported for cheating. Then the video that is provided will be shown on a screen for the jury to watch and then they will decide the ban.

2 RepliesEdited by G: 8/12/2016 10:45:58 AMThis honestly makes me really want to buy a jitter mod chip. The thing is, there's no kill cams and no first person spectating mode, so who's really going to catch you in the act of cheating? The lag is already so bad in this game, how can you truly tell if it's a lag switch or just poor connections? And if you suspect me of cheating, I can just flood your account with reports and blame you for cheating and Bungie will listen me instead. This is one of the easiest games to get away with using mods and cheating, simply because there's no definite way to tell if somebody is cheating or playing legit.

12 RepliesEdited by Hunter-Max99: 8/11/2016 7:20:33 PMThis! And bungie even defends people that are cheating. You have video proof, that someone is 100% cheating? Well, better get you banned for naming&shaming.

7 RepliesI'm kind of curious to be honest. Modded controllers have what exactly to do with cheating? The only modded controllers I've seen are controllers with paddles, extra sensitivity, and sometimes the ability to fire Semi Auto guns as Full Auto (nothing to do with rate of fire. Think of it like the perk for some shotguns and scout rifles that turn it from Semi Auto to Automatic). Am I missing something?
-
2 RepliesHow are they firing pulse rifles like auto rifles? I don't mean how as in tell me so I can, I mean like, is it a modded controller or what??
-
Edited by MARS (Adept): 8/12/2016 1:13:49 PMWhat a coincidence. I just had an Aegis of the Reef pulse rifle drop last night. It has Full Auto, Headseeker and Perfect Balance. I've never had a rifle like this. It staggers and fires harder than any auto rifle I've used....it's almost like a machine gun feel. I'm betting when I use it in crucible there will be quite a bit of salt. It's on my warlock btw.

I'm just suprised so many people put so much time into this kinda crap. If you have a model controller that let's you change your controls for game comfort that's one thing but buying these things that have software to circumvent things like reload and rof I think is a little over the top. It is a game when all is said and done does it make you feel that much better winning like that

19 RepliesModded controllers aren't illegal, you know. Especially since they can't do what a normal person can't do with their own controller.
-
7 RepliesI have a scuf, for the paddles so I can jump, am I cheating? If so, I'd be able to do the exact same thing with my regular controller
-
1 Replysomeone clearly just got recked by a person with (wait for it)
gun skill
-
2 RepliesYou could always get one yourself these Controllers aren't illegal you can't get banned for them.
-
4 RepliesRapid fire doesn't do anything. It can't go any faster than the game allows.

2 RepliesFix the glitches and the problem's largely gone. Modded controllers can not change the way the game works, but they can exploit the bugs that are already there. To truly change the way the game works, you need network package analysis/manipulation, which is significantly harder on a console but still technically possible (this is assuming the actual client is unhackable, which it pretty much is on a console). It's funny how reload-cancel with a NLB is l33t skillz done manually but if you program a controller to do it automatically, it becomes cheating. Especially given how's anyone to know if you're really doing it manually? In both cases you're fundamentally exploiting a game glitch to your advantage. Basically to counter jitter mods, all animations should be uncancelable and there should always be a delay switching actions. A-A should always be faster than A-B-A. Certain repeated actions, like jumping, should come with a delay before they can be re-entered. If there was a one second delay to pull out your ghost and one second delay to put it away, would any gameplay really be affected? No, but it would stop exploits that rely on ghost screen canceling. It's still not perfect: E.g. you could still program automatic recoil comp on a controller. Analyze your weapon's recoil pattern and figure out how much and in which direction you need to pull to counter recoil. Then program your controller to automatically enter that every time you pull the trigger. You can program it to adjust aim to counter your own jumps, though bunnyhopping is less of a problem if repeated jumps are impossible. You can program it to always press fire slightly after melee, so you'll automatically get that finishing off shot in case the punch wasn't enough (not a huge advantage, but an example of the level of optimization you can get with automated input sequences -- if you're doing it anyway, why not go the whole hog?) Any game mechanic that relies on how hard the button presses are to pull off physically can be easily broken by a modded controller. All those QTEs (not in Destiny as it doesn't have any) that require you to tap a button as fast as possible? Easy peasy for a modded controller. Pressing multiple buttons at exactly the same time or in very exact sequence? Same thing. Likewise for any glitches they didn't bother to fix "because they would be too hard to exploit."

2 RepliesYou can't fire faster than the maximum fire rate....

The jitter mod is a big crutch and must be fixed, because its breaking the game in all ways xim4 or something scuf, elite controller benefit you, but this (specially jitter) isnt a benefit its a mod cheat or whatever your say

2 RepliesI got a message from some 2500 grimore noob last night in clash telling me to stop using a modded controller while using my vision of confluence. I politely replied with you can get the same gun from running the VOG. Get bent, noob.

Glad I don't play destiny for real anymore. Game is too old to still be having SO many issues

6 RepliesI can't believe there are individuals defending cheaters... Why doesn't Bungie ever pay attention when they need to?

13 RepliesEdited by Ibex: 8/11/2016 9:19:53 PMFor OP If you really want to improve upon a standard controller, go to Menu, Settings, Button Layout, and hit square(or XBox equivalent), swapping trigger to R1, or L1. Now, all of your weapons have the "Hair Trigger" perk, and there is less play when firing. You will shoot more accurately and quickly, and it also allows you to better execute the Suros Regime glitch. You would all benefit from this simple change.
