Just to give all you shotgun haters some perspective...

Things that melt shot gunners: TLW Any fast ROF auto Fusion rifles Sidearms Grenades Edit: -blam!-in panic supers Edit #2: I don't know how I forgot team shotting, the number 1 killer of shot gunners Other shot gunners And most importantly, common sense Now things that melt snipers: Other snipers Luck...     Anyone who can watch the videos above and not admit that there is a problem with snipers is a -blam!-ing moron. I'm done being diplomatic, and I'm simply not going to tolerate it anymore. This whole Nerf everything/anti-nerf bullshit war has gotten out of hand. People are just choosing sides and clinging to their bias. The absolute excuses that people are making to justify this gameplay is astounding. it just shows how blind people can be when they choose a side In both videos, 1. The player challenges CORRECTLY in non-sniper lanes. 2. GETS THE FIRST SEVERAL HITS. 3. Consistently hits critical shots while MOVING!!!!!!!!!!! The other player is literally standing there and gets a free kill. People will dismiss this as luck, and I'm getting sick of this argument because people are getting really -blam!-ing lucky... A LOT. High potential for lucky kills mean that weapon is not skill based, in any way, shape, or form. Something has to change and I don't care which way it goes. Either primary weapons need to be buffed so that their time to kill would have already killed that sniper in the video, or something needs to be done with snipers regarding flinch or aim assist.

        • Here's a challenge for everyone in this thread. Go a day using a shotgun, then go to your Destiny tracker and look at your kd or kills. On the next day use a sniper in your special slot and look at your kd or kills for that day. Regardless of what special you main, your shotgun kd [u]will[/u] be greater than your sniper kd. In the current meta, shotguns simply out perform snipers in the close quarters nature of Destiny's map design. I'll put it this way, if you get sniped once by a hardscoper in a corridor that's not your fault. Every other time you get sniped in the same or similar spot, it [u]is[/u] your fault. Every sniper on the planet is quite happy to keep domeing anyone stupid enough to keep rushing their position. There is nothing. I repeat, [b][u]nothing[/u][/b] you can do about a shotgun sliding around a corner in front of you. By the time you can react, you are dead. And seriously... all those weapons listed as [i]"anti-shotgun weapons"[/i] only work if the shotgunner in question has one braincell for "go forward" and another for "shooty-shooty my shotgun" I love it when shotgunners try and warrior me from across the map. Single minded sillies that surve to inflate my kd. Btw. The clips you have are garbage. First one is clearly a quickscope and the second one has so much lag involved that it makes the clip redundant in this discussion.

            • I main a sniper and while ppl say that they take no skill,they take an incredible amount of skill against other good players(same as shotguns).That being said,someone who is being shot at should not be able to snipe someone like that. Even if it's a quickscope,it should not be happening.instead of increasing flinch,bungie should make it so the reticle doesn't land on the head while getting shot at.

              • I main a shotgun these days and its frustrating to play against a team of snipers. I feel like I have no arms or legs. I can't challenge anything with a primary (which is my biggest complaint) because I know more likely than not I will get domed or nKuched. I can't rush with a shotty because the same thing will happen or I'll just get melted by TLW or mapped by Universal Remote. Not to mention most snipers use blade dancer/ Nightstalker which have incredible neutral game, making it really hard to effectively close the gap. The way to fix this awful passive meta is to increase flinch on snipers, lower aim assist, [u]buff primaries for the love of god[/u], and undo the last shotgun Nerf that lowered range and decreased player agility while holding a shotty. Also, uni remote needs a range/ rate of fire nerf asap.

                • Anything will melt anything else when approached a certain way. Snipers for example; if i know a sniper is holding down a lane, I'll flank and when I'm close enough to engage with my weapon, I'll jump so that as I peak at my highest point, the enemy with be in my sights as i fall into their lane. Using vertical space will often catch people off guard and give you an advantsge. I play the way i want and i generally don't force myself into a certain weapon just because someone else is playing how they want.

                  • While i do agree that something needs to be done about this, i have to point something out: 1st clip: very clearly a quickscope. Watch for the small red flash of the guy's scope when he dies. 2nd clip: very clearly lag issues. The other guy is red barring and you can clearly see his pulse shots register late. So if you're gonna complain about this, please get some clips that provide real evidence.

                      • I use both. I can counter both with mobility, mobility is king and a snipers worst nightmare....now saying that; i started off as a shotgunner in all of y1 and rarely sniped as i love rushing But shotguns are far more forgiving and easier than snipers which demand far more effort and player ability, shotguns are more consistent and can chain with many other attacks far better than a single precision shot of that from a sniper If u can't counter a sniper, u mist react extremely slow and be one of the headless chickens which are easy targets and deserve to get killed. Keep on running in straight lines and peaking at trafficked areas while u stand still and shoot with awful accuracy. U can blame the sniper, but learn how to play first

                          Most op shotgun for y2 is uni remote. How to combat it: The Vacancy fusion rifle from FWC Or Felwinters Lie which I use but that's only if you were here since y1, you can't get it anymore [spoiler]I use both [/spoiler]

                          • Just add sniper de-scoping. Clip #1 wouldn't have happened if that existed, no sniper should be allowed to pull a trigger and get a headshot while being shot at, or even if he didn't get the headshot but a body shot, still does around I think 170 damage? It's kind of ridiculous.

                            • Shotguns are not op, I love them, I use my primary and if people get to close I whip it out and try to kill them, that's there fault, I quit trying to rush because I would just get sniped by someone else, or gunned down by almost anything before u even got to your target, my favorite shot guns is the chaperone and that is the one shot gun I rush with and I am successful almost every time, people give am hate for using such a broken gun and it's annoying the chaperone is not easy to use, it's hard to get and people get killed by it like 3 times in a game and want Bungie to nerf it, god damn, do they want everything needed so the best kill time is 4 minutes, 5 head shots with a a sniper, 2 mags of any other gun? This is stupid and the worst part is, Bungie listens
