What is the point of having exotic weapons anymore? Exotics are considered exotics because they held certain advantages over other legendaries. Now with all the crying and whining for nerfs, Bungie is just negating and taking away all the exotic perks. TLW Perk is now non existent. The White Nail perk that made the Black Hammer superior was changed to pull ammo from reserves when turned into the Black Spindle. All they had to do was make the Black Hammer an exotic and kept the perk. Mida multitool is being nerfed as well. Gjallarhorn wolfpack rounds were nerfed. Vex Mythoclast prenerf was a beast. Hawkmoon perk was nerfed. The Truth will be receiving less rockets when you pick up heavies in crucible.
Why even have exotics when theyre just going to nerf them? Why not just get rid of exotics and make all weapons legendary since you want to make it all the same and generic? Exotics are supposed to give you an advantage, thats the whole point of having them. Instead lazy, entitled people cry and complain because theyre being outgunned by exotics they themselves can earn. Get better, get the weapons other people are using against you and fight back. Get better and stop feeling sorry for yourself and cry for a nerf because you are tired of dying.
Edit: If exotics are merely for the "looks" and are supposed to only be "unique" and "different" but provide no advantage, whether slight or a large amout, then how come you can only equip one piece of exotic at a time? Class items might be more cosmetic than anything but you can't tell me a Guardian wearing all exotic gear and equipped with all exotic weapons has no advantage over one with a full set of legendary gear and weapons.
To the ones saying it's not more powerful but more "unique". How much more unique will exotics be when Bungie is going after the very perks that make exotics "unique"? If exotics don't give an advantage why wouldn't they let you use more than one at a time? Is it because it would be unfair? If they hold no advantage how can they be unfair?

You should have said why buff/nerf them. Exotics are great but the tweaking of them sucks. Now the tweaking of how we get them is cool. Exotics shouldn't have been a think to leave to rnjesus

1 ReplyEdited by Combo164: 4/8/2016 11:30:06 PMI wish they would at least make exotics feel worth while in pve. I understand pvp. Shouldnt be forced to run a certain gun because the weapon has too much of an advantage over you. Plus the shitty rng would make it annoying to try and get the weapon. However in PvE i should feel like using a certain exotic would benefit me more than just a decent legendary. Zhalo is done right as well as juju and spindle to an extent. Thunderlord, mida, hawkmoon, tlw, suros and even red death (to an extent) dont really feel like they're worth the slot aside from just wanting to use them.

Why do we have exotics... Because they make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside when we equip them :) :P
-
Exotics are supposed to be different, then slightly more powerful
-
All of the cod players. I havent even used mida since y1. In fact i really dont use exotics except as heavy. Leave to cod players to bitch loud enough and bungie to wipe there collective a $$es. I blame cod players for 90% of the weapon nerfs.

"Wahhh my exotics aren't overpowered anymore!" Exotics are still supposed to fit into weapon balancing, otherwise they would be as gamebreaking as Vex used to be.

1 ReplySeems like initially the exotic weapons were sought after because they were better than legendaries. Heck, we aren't even allowed to use more than one exotic weapon at a time, (obviously, not so with legendaries or commons). They were harder to get and were sought after because they were supposed to be better than the rest. Now that many of these exotic weapons have been nerfed one way or another, they just aren't as special anymore, which is a shame. What is the sense of labeling the weapon as exotic, if the reasons for it being an exotic are compromised or eliminated?

A lot of cod players be in the bungie forums.... GO BACK!

1 ReplyAgree, Exotics should be unique. I don't think there's much point in saying people should just get the weapon and use it to fight back, they very likely have them but don't want to have to use them to stand a chance in PvP, there are so many weapons more should be viable without there being clear superiority. Bungies implementation of steps to balance is weird. Why buff and nerf? Why not put the buffs in and then monitor to see if the nerfs they intended to do are still warranted? They change too many things all at once. That little graph of theirs for MIDA? Probably going to see the line plummet, rather than it taper off and others come up, had they left it as is and just proceeded with the buffs. Same for TLW, with other weapons becoming more viable, the complaints against the TLW might have lessened. Maybe not, but would it not have been better to try that first?

If it wasn't so, this post would be a complaint about something else.

why exactly? its all true

Please tell me that you are just kidding x/

1 ReplyYeah sometimes I wonder what Destiny would be like if everything was perfectly balanced day one in pve and pvp, where you never felt punished for not sticking to the meta, I.e Spindle in pve, mida pvp etc. You could use any loadout you wanted and still have a fair chance at succeeding. Even today when I was using hawkmoon and jade rabbit, my friend immediately told me to swap and my score in the games I played with those was drastically different to say a game where I used doctrine.

14 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 4/8/2016 10:54:20 PMI thought Exotics were supposed to be unique weapons that provided a different experience? Not the generic "This tier is better than the previous; that's all!"

1 ReplyHoly shit you just made a ton of sense.

4 RepliesIf OG White Nail was still around? Warpriest, Golgoroth, and Sisters alone would go down faster then it took Bungie to nerf the Pocket Infinity. I was pissed at that fact at first as well. But be real - OG White Nail will always remain in our memories.

3 RepliesI do find irony in how everybody knows Destiny is unbalanced. The Crucible is shit. Bungie tries to make it balanced and Destiny fans get in arms about how Bungie is making their game more playable.

Because when bungie realises that listening to the community was a retard move they'll hopefully un-nerf everything
