Those that say fire DeeJ

I guarantee each and every one of you saying DeeJ should be fired are teens. No adult would demand he lose his job. Only teens who have no idea what it means to have a career are the ones getting butthurt that he actually had the balls to call that dbag's bluff. You have NO CLUE what his job requirements are, and I promise you, they aren't to make you happy. So quit your -blam!-ing whining, he doesn't owe you, me, or anyone shit. When his bosses tell him to release information, he will. Until then, suck it up.

  • His job title is community manager. His community is in shambles. You do the math.

    • He should be. I'm an adult and I think he's extremely poor at his job. You aren't a member of the community and the manager of it and insult the people who make you and your -blam!-ing company money. They don't care and I don't care about destiny anymore.

      • Community manager. How is the community? Poor? Well yeah, I guess you can say that's a good explanation of how he is doing at his job as well

      • False, there was obviously a disconnect seeing as how he had to 'explain himself' in a follow up. His follow up response is how he should address the community on a regular basis. 'Hey guys, I don't have anything to report to you about the content you have been asking about but we do hear you and know that you have inquired about such such and such'. Rather than routinely ignoring people and coming up with smart ass pokes. I don't want to hear 'oh it was a joke'. He 'jokes' like that A LOT to the point where his interaction is extremely smarmy and smug. Defend him all you want, but I know if I treated my industry's customers like retarded jackasses and talked to them like they wear a bike helmet 24/7 and need to be hand held guaranteed I'd be fired and management would quickly and simply replace me. Who on this earth gets paid to be an arrogant asswipe and have a disconnect with their customer base? who??

        • Honestly you sound like an immature little kid. I don't believe he should be fired, first off, but your argument here is basically saying: If you don't agree with me, you are a dumb kid. The job of a community manager is to interact with the community in a positive way and enforce a company's good brand. This is general knowledge. If an adult feels offended that's their opinion. Trying to tell people they are wrong for having an opinion just makes you ignorant and immature.

          •
COMMUNITY MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION A Community Manager is the face of a company, managing communications in both directions. This digital-savvy employee is responsible for all communications, PR, social media, events, and content creation, among other things. It’s a Web 2.0 communications role, incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the company’s brand, both online and off. While every day as a Community Manager is different, this is what the role’s responsibilities may include: 1. Content creation – writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels 2. Social media marketing – creating, managing and growing the company’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties 3. Events and event planning – attending industry events in your city (often outside of 9-5 hours) and planning meetups for your community 4. Public relations – (note: some companies may have devoted PR departments so this may not be relevant) managing incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns 5. Customer relations – the Community Manager is often responsible for customer support – answering questions however they come in (phone, e-mail, Twitter) and managing any online feedback forums such as GetSatisfaction pages 6. Communications/marketing strategy – the Community Manager is responsible for creating strategic marketing/communications plans to provide direction for the company’s public-facing communications 7. Analytics – Using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives 8. Business development – Depending on the company and depending on how senior the role is, a Community Manager can also be responsible for business development and sales

credit: https://www.socialfresh.com/a-definitive-community-manager-job-description/
I'm not seeing the part that says shit on customers hoping to hear information about their favorite game. But I guess that could be a, "Bungie-only" thing. Doesn't seem like everyone is behind it, though.

            • Awwwwwwwwwwwww is someone hoping that deej replies to his post so you can finally achieve a full man boner? Sad man. I'm a full grown adult with a career and I can agree with the teens. Don't create a forum app and then not communicate with the people on the forums. Sounds pretty redundant. I do agree that bungie owes us nothing, we all bought into the hype before actually waiting on reviews. In the good old days people would beat a game and then move on, but the destiny community can't seem to grasp that. Games over. We beat. Move on. It's called The Division.

            • He doesn't need to lose his job, but at minimum his job title needs to be changed. He's not a Community Manager. He's a middleman. He doesn't have any (or excercise any) control over the forum community. A proper Community Manager wouldn't allow half of the shit threads on these forums to exist. A proper Community Manager would keep the #Destiny forums regulated to a point where the game developers wouldn't feel intimidated by the idea of interacting with the community here, as opposed to using Reddit (where the Moderators actually put in work) or that Twitter bullshit.

                • I am an adult. I would agree that Deej should not be fired. Honestly, it is refreshing to see studio employees having fun or poking fun at trending topics or videos in the community. However, I am starting to wonder what Deej does at the studio on a weekly basis. The "This Week at Bungie" have become predictable almost copy and paste updates. Why he needed an extra day to spit out the garbage in the last update is beyond me. I will give it to him, he knows how to add fluff and is an expert wordsmith. He can fill air time on their live streams pretty well even when people ask tough questions or something goes wrong. But I still wonder how you can have the title of "Community Manager" and maybe, just maybe reply to one thread a day. And his twitter is updated just as frequently. The most revealing aspect is that I feel in the last few streams is that Deej doesn't even play this game anymore. I knew he was a noob already, but just watching the last few times he has actually played on stream, namely the Crimson Doubles stream, it is apparent that he does not even play anymore. Cozmo has possibly one of the most enviable jobs in Destiny. Literally he has to copy and paste different wordings of the basic phrase "I will pass your idea along" and research Youtube videos.

That reply deej made in that forum was awesome and hella funny also
