Finished Hard mode Oryx, and for my 20 shards, and completion... what do I get?
Gauntlets of 311 (already have 314), and the NORMAL MODE F'ing Auto rifle at 303, and NORMAL MODE F'ing sniper at 304.
Yeah, GREAT FRIGGIN REWARDS FOR YOUR GAME on HARD MODE (not to mention GOT CRAP shards the whole way through before Oryx, and Normal mode drops). This is the kinda stuff that makes people wanna quit you know. You said it yourself Luke, "We wanna make the game feel more rewarding."
Well you tell me then, if this crap happened to you, would that feel rewarding? SMH, so frustrated right now.

EDIT: Update, on why this raid reward system is so broken. Previous raids RNG was 1 element (you either got what you were looking for or you didn't), gear was one level, perks were same. Current raid, gear RNG has 3 elements, You have to get the item you are missing, you have to hope it has the light to level you up (smart loot? HAHA), and you have to hope it has perks that help you.
3 Elements of RNG are what makes this the WORST rewarding system of any Destiny Raid. #Bungie fix your crap
For those who think running normal mode first is the answer, see below, sigh
[spoiler]there are 2 loot tables One for Normal mode, and one for Hard mode.
normal mode loot table consists of: shards or 300 - 310 loot gear/weapons.
Hard mode loot table consists of: 310 - 320 gear/weapons or nothing
Getting Normal mode done first does not change any percentage of the loot table that RNG factors for your loot. They are two totally separate entities.
So, if you run normal mode first, the loot table for normal mode drops in HM doesn't even roll... it doesn't exist.
So, if you did normal mode first, then run HM, the RNG roll for the TOTALLY SEPERATE HM ROLL could come up as 0 (or nothing)... meaning you get nothing.
If you don't run normal mode and run HM only. The Normal mode loot table rolls, and it could be = Shards... then the HM loot table rolls, and it could be nothing. So if you run NM first, you could potentially get NOTHING from HM, AT ALL until Oryx (because Oryx is the ONLY guaranteed HM item drop). If you run HM only, you could get shards the whole way through until Oryx. (in both cases RNG trolled you badly, which is happening to many people)
In other words... the only thing you get out of running normal mode first, is wasting your time to run both at separate times. Hope this clears it up for you.[/spoiler]

12 RepliesI love Bungie's RNG system. I am completely content with not getting better gear each time I do the raid, its fine I know I will get it eventually. The randomness adds to the fun. I can handle rolling the dice, which is exactly what you do when you do the raid. YOU ROLL THOSE BEAUTIFUL RNG DICE. Just like gambling, you dont always win, but it's important to have fun even when you lose.

Ehh, I still haven't beaten hard Oryx yet because my gear wasn't even 310. I still don't have the Helmet, and my boots are 300. Also, the only primary I have gotten yet is the Auto Rifle, which I infused in my Treads Upon Stars, an average Scout Rifle.

1 ReplyIf you don't want to get. Normal mode drops, do normal before hard. Also, hard mode doesn't use moldering shards, you are guaranteed a drop from oryx in hard mode.

5 RepliesI've beaten hard oryx twice so far, and both times I got absolute shit for loot. First time I get a 300 hemlet, 308 boots (I had 311) and a 311 sniper. Second time, I get an auto rifle (but it was 303), a 312 chest (I already had a 310 chest) and a 309 chest. Both times I had 20 moldering shards, and both times it was a waste of time.

If you're that salty about a completely normal roll, then the raid was clearly to much hard work for you to enjoy. I'd suggest trying some lower-level content. In the meantime, it seems like you're having a whole bunch of fun with your caps lock button....so keep on keepin on!

Be happy you even have raid sniper. The only guns I get are the shotgun and HMG. I JUST got a crappy rolled scout at 315... First primary since TTK. Not sympathetic bro, sorry but not sorry.

I am bumping this. Any fanboy here wanna defend bungie???? Instead of progressing higher, this game gives you the shittiest shit reward of all the games (mmorpg) ive played. Is this how you keep your gamers playing bungie? Grinding and grinding to get low teird rewards? If a rare has higher light level than a legendary drop then something's wrong with your game.

2 RepliesDude I ran kings fall normal last week on my lock and my rewards were as follows : Glyphs got moldering shards Warpriest got moldering shards Golgoroth got boots that were WORSE than the ones I had on Exotic chest in the jumping puzzle got moldering shards Sisters got a warlock bond I already fuccing had, and was WORSE than the one I was wearing. Oryx was my only good drop the whole raid. Chest armor, hand cannon, and shotgun all on the same drop

F that. And that's why I'm done and my clan mates are done too. This new light level garbage is worse then ever. Thank god BLOPs is out tonight Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider Tuesday Star Wars battlefront a few days away. So much for Destiny.

1 ReplyThe game and the drops are working as intended. The gauntlets are your HM drop and the two normal drops are your normal drop and your shard reward. What are you even complaining about?
