The Last of Us has the best narrative in gaming. Period.
started my 7th playthrough of this game. Dear god, that opening scene still makes my eyes water. There are only a select few games that come even close to this kind of narrative. Xbots can hate all they want. This game truly deserved those perfect scores and 200+ GOTY awards. To those that say it's "overrated" either haven't played it or doesn't know what a good story is and would rather run around like a chicken with it's head cut off shooting shit all day and should go back to cod. No game is perfect, I don't think there is such thing as a perfect game, but The Last of Us comes the closest. I can make you a list

Amazing character development and attachment
Challenging
Emotionally moves you (unless you have no soul)

The soundtrack sets the mood for the game PERFECTLY
Great dystopian society take on the government controlled cities

Nothing compares to it. Period. Just gotta put that out there. I'm just once again falling in love with this game. I know nothing compares to the first playthrough but damn it's still worth it to replay it. A buddy of mine has replayed it over 20 times and still cries each time. There is no denying that the last of us is fantastic ... It is without doubt the best game I've ever played . Now don't get me wrong it may not be everyone's cup of tea some people might not enjoy zombie themed games,but the majority of people who hate on this game do so simply because it's a ps exclusive ..... Graphics,story,gameplay,voice acting and sound effects are all top notch and that is why the game rightly so has won over 240 game of the year awards .... Out of the dozens ( maybe hundreds) of reviews and walkthroughs that I've seen only a handful have found the game anything less than brilliant and even those few that said they didn't enjoy the game picked at small things that you could say about any game ever made ..... For me there is only one way to describe the last of us ... A Masterpiece

Just got my hands on a Nathan Drake Bundle PS4. First time playing any Uncharted game, Awesome series and I'm super excited for uncharted 4.. The Last of Us is a masterpiece. I can't think of a single game where the Graphics, Narrative, voice acting and character development all combined to make characters that felt so believably human. Fury Road, Bioshock Infinite, Sharknado 2 and Journey are examples of masterpieces as well.

TLOU was a fantastic game, there's no denying that, but the gameplay seemed fairly average, and it relied heavily upon the story, which was the only thing that made it great. The Witcher 3 though, fantastic story (better than TLOU in my opinion), incredible graphics, some of the best gameplay ever, open world, fantastic voice acting I can go on
