In his defense, the only way to know this is by reading the news update or by word of mouth. Would be nice if the in game item said so in the description.

So I guess the name changing from exotic engram to legacy engram means nothing and should be completely disregarded and not worth questioning what so ever.

Since the release of TTK, every week there have been about 20 similar threads of Legacy engram being Year 1. So, even if one can forgive the vagueness of some being unable to know Legacy as something being around for awhile, ie, Y1, the fact that it's been published in the weekly update and countless threads about it being so, there is no defense for someone to still be surprised and complain about wasting Strange Coins on Legacy engrams.

Because it's probably the only time you do get to feel that way. I understand what the word legacy means. All I said was it's could be a little more direct in the description rather than using hints. It could actually say year 1 instead of legacy and being familiar. And you all for some reason felt that was worth all of your rage, calling me names and jumping down my throat. Learn to respect others, whether it's online or in real life. I guarantee none of you would talk to people in real life this way.

Also legacy, if you see a new engram, that says "legacy" why buy it right away, research first. We also leaned this in science during school. Research comes first. And this is why we can't have nice things

That's how I treat people in real life. Common sense is something everyone should have. Destiny is rated T for teen. If you are a teen and can't think of a general sense of what legacy is, or decide to look it up, that's disappointing.

No it doesnt. It says legacy engram, which is a hint. And it says something along the lines of having a familiar glow or some such. Nothing specific, just a couple vague hints.

Both the name and description were more than just a couple of vague hints, they were clear labels as to the Engram being Year 1 Exotic Engram. Legacy should have been the big giveaway, the description solidified the speculation.

Eh. I hear you. They seem like great hints in hindsight once we all know the deal. But if Bungie hadn't explained ahead of time there would have been a lot more of these "mistakes". All I'm saying is Bungie could be a little more clear in game rather than expecting people to read the updates Same issue with the three of coins. Nobody would know how to use them if it were not for reading the news outside of the game.
