a question for avid thorn and shotgun users
why do you guys use thorn and shotguns in regular crucible? like i get it if it's trials and you just will do whatever you have to do to win, even if what you're doing takes no skill, but why do you do it in regular crucible? like how is that fun for you?

Lol! For real. I try to use different weapons every match and even then i get a little bored, only bring out the op weapons when it counts

I like this thread and wish there were more like this. You asked a valid question with no hate towards anyone and you are not bashing anyone who chooses to use these weapons. I try to use snipers, some have scopes that I can't, IMO, use. I can hit players with my shot but trying to get a headshot is to time consuming, plus I can't see the radar so I'm afraid someone is going to flank me. I've tried fusion rifles and don't like them. Sidearms are ok if you are close range. So that just leaves shotguns, which I kind of like to be honest. I love my full auto dry rot.

I think they just play seriously no matter what. Or their other guns are just crap. Or they know there are other, more honorable players out there who've decided to use Necrochasm for the match and think it's just easy kills being given to them to increase Crucible stats.

Every weapon takes skill to use man. I use thorn occasionally so I can see if people run away when they go behind a wall or run away

1 ReplyMy honest answer? Practice. I want to do my best in Trials, why would I use a different load out if I mean to practice with the load out I will be using in Trials.

Look at the guys with sub 2500 grimore. They probably picked up the game not too long ago and they go into crucible to see 75 percent of people using thorn and doing good. They look up this weapon that everyone seems to have! They find out how to get it and after grinding bounties, void kills and xyor the fgt. They finally get thorn and it becomes the only way they can go positive because they dont gave to skill that veteran players have. TL:DR The reason thorn is so used is because people are afraid to try new guns

Who cares. If it's a good gun I'm gonna use it, I'm not going to handicap myself by saying "oh it's too unfair for everyone I'm shooting to use it". No, I'm going to use it and get as many kills with it as I can and faster, that's the point of the game. To kill someone else faster so you don't die

Cause they're chumps. I've never thought weapons needed to be nerfed but I can't wait till these Thorn/TLw babies get their precious guns nerfed.

I just use thorn for fun but prefer TLW. I used to be a sniper type but decided to switch my play style to shotguns. But I am using snipers again.

Trials pretty much ruined player behavior as now it's a massive arms race for who has the spammiest two hit kill. Personally I'm a blink shotgun and I'm relying way too heavily on my original felwinters and I'm really losing any gunskill I may have had from halo. So I'm starting to get into the sniping meta because my bet is that since this game is all about getting the cheapest kills in the fastest time from the longest range that a lot of people are going to drop the shotgun pick up a sniper and camp hard.

Agreed. It's equally annoying when people only use a shotgun and blink around all game. I don't have anything against people who use shotguns every once in awhile but if that's literally all you use all match then that's ridiculous

I don't even have a thorn. If I wanna go tryhard, I run last word as my backup and LDR 5001 as my main weapon
