Bungie Skolas is not easier to beat all you did was make him [b]much harder[/b] to beat.

I find its quite thrilling to take him down, it's tough but the teamwork to take him down is great fun. It's just too bad the rewards stink.

4 RepliesSkolas is pretty easy without burns. I killed him last week just using a 365 Fang of Ir Yut. (And that is not meant to be boasting about using a shitty weapon as it was in my opinion the optimal choice for Small Arms / Light Switch against the Fallen).

Did it for the first time two days ago with two people who have never done it before. Did it in two hours, not too bad, if there was a burn it'd be a billion times easier but I understand why you could see it as hard. Just use communication

Did it last night in a hour and 20 mins not that bad. The longest part is skolas. You just have to have a plan and make sure you kill the ads before burning him

2 RepliesI am 3 for 3, beat him last week with 2 noobs (to skolas) & I only have 2 completions myself. It really is not that hard. Communicate, that's the biggest & take a lap as needed (always clockwise) & pass the hot potato

1 ReplyI would say the key to Skolas is Communication and Rhythm. Getting Skolas' bonds broken is the easy and obvious part. So let's assume you're good up to that part. For poison & mines, all 3 players need to be on the ball with communication so there are no bad (easily avoidable) goofups. That means making it clear when you have the poison, when you're at 15 seconds and 7 seconds (time to pass it). Too often people don't speak up and then they yell "somebody take it, quick" with 3 seconds left. That's dumb and has nothing to do with skill. The other guys also have to be clear about who has immunity, so you know exactly who WILL be taking it next. I also see people not being clear on this, so they "double take" the poison leaving 2 with immunity. Also dumb. The rest is just clear adds methodically before damaging Skolas, and being READY to move to the next part. If there's a man down, why shoot Skolas and start the mines section? Get all 3 alive first, then get it going. And learn to "run the circuit" when things get hairy and you feel pinned down. Running the outside of the map is easy. Master doing it in coordination so you can pass poison while on the move...like handing a baton. It's actually a pretty fun and fulfilling boss when you get these mechanics down. But I agree it needs a checkpoint. Good luck!

It might not be easier but it didn't get that much harder. I beat it last night and it probably took around 4-5 wipes until we beat him...granted one of our teammates had not done it before so it took a little while for him to get the strategy down. Just takes good communication and paitence.

7 RepliesIt's not a lot harder but it is harder. Did it first time with a mate who's not that strong at destiny but can work with constant communication. But it leaves no room for error with that poison. I was last man standing a few times. Go team invis hunter.

3 RepliesCheckpoints would help. I had to spend 4.5 hours yesterday without leaving my console -- that was about 1.5 hours to get to Skolas, and several hours of my LFG team figuring out how to work together to beat him. I don't mind the time, but I have a life, and RARELY have that block of time. If you could go back to Skolas, with others who have gotten that far this week so that we all have the checkpoint, it would make it more enjoyable.
