Someone please tell me I read the weekly update incorrectly. Please tell me that Activision/ Bungie are not charging an additional $20 just for 3 emotes, 3 shaders, and 3 class items.
That's insane.
Did I read it wrong?
Edit: please feel free to disagree with me. Personally $20 is too much for cosmetic items in my opinion. Others will not share that opinion. That's okay. I was thinking it would equate to $5. But I guess I am just cheap.
Edit 2: there are some really angry people on this forum. Well, we can disagree. I stand by my opinion and the value of money compared to the lack of content/value for $20. I'm not going to bother reading any more. Have a good night and please don't spend too much time arguing.
Remember it's just a game...

Digital collectors edition - $79.99 Legendary edition - $59.99 Just TTK - $39.99 $20 for the digital collectors stuff is the right price point compared to the other costs. Yes I would like it as cheap as possible, but I understand the costs

Microtransactions inbound, guardian.

4 RepliesLook people. These are available in the damn game as well. It just so happens that these particular items are being sold to access early. That's the only reason they cost money. Anyone complaining about this at this point is a retard and I hope you die a death of many thorns....in the crucible. ;)
-
It should be -blam!-ing free the cheap -blam!-ing pricks.
-
3 RepliesI was hoping for $5 also. $10 at most. I'll be skipping it. And everyone saying players must be poor to not get this: rich people don't stay rich by giving money away to stupid shit.
-
Most games charge 1.99 for cosmetic items. 9 x 1.99 = 17.91 That is only a $2.09 from the cheapest you find them. WoW charges $15 a piece for cosmetic items similar to the class items. WoW is also $15 a month and has over 10 million subscribers.
-
You don't HAVE to buy it....it's a choice thing you know!
-
So many people have forgotten how to do basic math.
-
6 RepliesIt's literally the same price as buying the ce. 60 for non ce 80 for ce. 20 more for the same stuff. You don't want it then don't buy it but this is exactly what the community asked for. Some people will just never be satisfied.
-
I felt the exact same way. I would pay $0.50 for each item, which equates to $4.50. I'll round that up to $5, because I don't like having change in my pocket. They always fall down in the cracks of your seat, and that shit is annoying af to retrieve.
-
2 RepliesI'm okay with 20. Hell, I was okay with 40 for TTK. What I wasn't okay with was being locked out of it because it makes no sense forcing your players to rebuy everything. For the future guardians, good for them. But for those that wanted the option, making them purchase everything again is janky. We got what we wanted, so I'd say that's a win
-
7 RepliesGood idea. You have the choice to spend extra $$$. You don't HAVE to if you don't want. Question tho: What exactly are the 'class items'
-
Not worth the price of a dlc.
-
You have a choice. This is the important.
-
Corporate greed my friend. Bungie and Activision already have a low opinion of the community as can be seen by the internal document sent to RedBull managers stating and I quote, "destiny players are used to paying a premium for downloaded content similar to this quest" http://i.imgur.com/AhupylO.jpg
-
3 RepliesJust gonna toss this in here for giggles. People are paying $1000 on another game for micro transactions.
-
$20 is reasonable. At least we have a choice now.
-
3 RepliesLemme see... you retards bitch you cant buy them seperate and now your bitching its too much ?? Never -blam!-ing happy.
-
6 RepliesAll I know is, I already purchased the Digital CE and NOW they lower the price?!?!? I can't cancel the order on PS4 so I hope what ever they do is worth it.
-
1 ReplyEdited by ColNapalm: 6/25/2015 3:03:27 PMAgreed but sadly, the most vocal group apparently will throw money at the screen, for tripe that should be free and plentiful. Mocking the reasonable as they do, no less. Kinda makes me sad for the world.
-
No you didn't. It is upgrade to $40 expansion. And you get the overpriced vanity crap.
-
1 ReplyEdited by tombok90: 6/25/2015 2:43:49 PMYou are a human cow, actually ur better than a cow, instead of milk u give cash. This is how bungie sees you, as a big dumb cow full of cash who has no concept of value purchasing. Luke even said it, you are by now used to paying a premium. MOOOOOOO!
-
2 Replies$20 = 2 beers & a shot of Jameson. no fux given.
-
I don't get it the VIP rewards are badass looking and people are all but hurt about class items with XP bonus so that the life span of the next DLC is made that much shorter? Oh, but then the same people will be back here complaining about lack of content and I hit the new level cap on 3 characters in a week. I for one will not buy the collectors edition crap pack because I see no need for it.
-
6 RepliesJust remember what Luke Smith said. "You will throw money at the screen". Even though he apologized, it's still their philosophy. They will bilk the player base of every dime they can.
-
You are wrong,I added up said items in my head and they are worth exactly 21.76. Way to make yourself look dumb
