Do not buy the new DLC in any form
At the very least don't pre order it. Bungie believes they can wrap up whatever abortion of content they want and slap a $40-$80 price tag on it and people will buy it. The sad truth is they aren't wrong. This game from the very beginning has been a stream of disappointment and despite making large strides to better it Bungie still can't seem to grasp that people are fed up and rightfully so.
I'm hearing that they'll be coming out with something to honor first year players. That's cool and all but let me tell you that if they CARED about you in the first place they wouldn't have needed a PR disaster to mention it. Seriously open your eyes and look at what they're trying to sell you for at the very least 2/3rds of the cost of just the base game.
I'd highly suggest that in the current state of planned release you refrain from purchase. Even if you love playing Destiny buying this content will only fortify their position against you and your wallet. Don't feed the beast until after we see just how expansive this DLC will be. There will be plenty of competition this Fall and Bungie doesn't deserve your money for free. Make them earn it. Make them earn your play time because right now and since the very beginning they've been laughing at us.
Edit - Okay clearly many of you aren't quite getting what I am putting down so I'll attempt clarification. DO NOT PREORDER THE DLC "EXPANSION" UNTIL IT LAUNCHES. Wait and see just exactly how EXPANSIVE it will be. Look at how screwed we got over TDB and to a lesser extent HoW. When you give them money before they release the content they have zero obligation to release a fair amount of new and quality stuff. We've shown them twice already that we're content with whatever dismal droppings they'll throw at us. I LOVE DESTINY. I want destiny to be BETTER that's why I TOOK THE TIME to write this lengthy post to incite discussion on DLC practices. NOT TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN OR CANT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON but to put forth an idea on how to show Bungivision were sick of paying top dollar for rehashed garbage and we're not going to achieve that if we're content with the current plans for the DLC drop. Don't let them have your money until you're absolutely sure it's worth it. We need to stand against predatory DLC practices united or else they've already won and any future DLC and Destiny 2 will be the same old tune.

I agree, completely and in light of this bullshit regarding the collector's edition AND red bull early access I am -blam!-ing done with this game. DONE, you hear that Bungie. Get your greed in check or else you're going to be losing a lot more people.

3 RepliesI think most people didn't learn from preordering the initial game to begin with, I remember how all those people were angry with the game specially the ones that purchased the pass as well. As for myself I like the game enough to buy ttk but I will not preorder, the last game I preordered was Homefront....Never again!!!

Translation, in case you missed it! : a gamer shouldn't have to repurchase the whole game all over again to get a few gimmick trinkets! Further Translation: We (Bungie) are taking you all for SUCKERS by conning or convincing you (the gamers) into spending more money than you should have to, just so you can say you got something! This is how I'm seeing it! Guys, if you fall for this trap, you haven't got anything for your money! Friends, in fact you lost money on this marketing ploy! I personally see this whole situation with Bungie as a test. A test, to see if we will fall for what they are doing to us gamers. To pass the test, don't buy the dlc, not yet! 9 RepliesWhat a lot of you idiots seem to be missing is that they want you (for those of you who played since day one) to rebuy content of stuff you already own if you want the exclusive content that comes with some of the editions which the founders package pales in comparison the $80 package u get new emotes, couple of exotic weapons, shaders now u take that and compare it to an emblem, sparrow, and shader. There has not been any mention of ever being able to purchase the new stuff through mocro transactions but hey as Luke Smith (a big jack ass in his responses) says if u want it fork over another 80 dollars we will gladly -blam!- u of your money along with all the other -blam!- we have done to you in the past (that was all my paraphrase of what he said not actually what he said). Yes i myself would love to have the new content that comes with the $80 version but when i have already spent that much on the first digital collector's edition i am not paying $160 altogether for something i already have just to get a vouple of new things i would really like though with each expansion they keep changing the leveling system causing me to grind hours on hours just to barely make the level for dark below then they change it and i saw ppl who played less then 2 days worth of game play verse my 20+ days worth of play reach max level in house of wolves within the first week. It is desicions like that that make this whole edition thing bull. There is much more that i could say and that i am sure others could say but i believe the main point is bungie you f**ked up and are to proud to admit it but then again why should you when there are plenty of morons willing to through money at you to buy something twice and my last point is you have to work very hard just to make we want to play your game from here on out.

They got most of us twice, but we all have the option to not get caught up a third time. Bungie said publicly yall would pay as much as they ask for and they are in the process of finding that limit. Who the hell cares? I can guarantee that the majority of players who are "boycotting" are going to purchase the DLC. Maybe it won't be bought on launch day, but it will probably be purchased very soon after it. This isn't [url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url] Germany. People have the right to choose whether to purchase or not. Let's all complain about issues that really matter. I bet you guys are the same individuals who wanted to sue when a raid wasn't released.
