Everybody is talking about this thing and how much they want it and in some cases people are actually mention it as a requirement to be let on their fireteam. Now in general i don't even like rocket launchers, i prefer machine guns and looking at the state's and abilities it doesn't seem that special, it just tracks the enemy and breaks up in homing projectiles, which isn't even unique to Gjallahorn. Am i missing something because i really don't get why it's that big a deal.
Ok, i get it now, it has crazy dps because of the wolfpack rounds which ARE unique to gjallarhorn and are vastly superior to other similar abilities and the fact that it holds 2 rounds in the tube and 5 in reserve and that the missiles track targets. This was not a troll post, it was just me being curious and a bit ticked off because some (definitely not all) people act a bit smug to other people about having one. I didn't watch any videos about it or seen it in action so i didn't know the wolfpack rounds where that effective. I'm not jealous or angry because i don't have one, i don't think it's an unfair weapon that should be nerfed, even though i can see why some do feel that way. I just wanted to know what the big fuss was about. I havent been playing for a while until a week before HoW dropped and when i came back, everybody seemed to be talking about it so i just wondered why.

Other then its perk (which just makes it do as much as damage as 2 rockets) nothing. Its stats are eh for a rocket, doesn't even have rocket vernies on it. Though I've had for a very long time, since the second week of launch and its fun, and powerful. Though in certain situations its just useless in comparison to other rockets. For example; the truth is far superior in PvP then the Gjallarhorn. Its blast radius, tripod, and exotic perk far out way the Gjallarhorn. Now another example. Sometimes its just a waste of an exotic slot, some exotic primaries and specials are much more versatile then the Gjallarhorn, it relays on heavy ammo. Sometimes you'll have a drought, now the invective or icebreaker do not. I honestly prefer them in certain situations over the gjallarhorn. Even the vex can out way it in certain situations. I could go on and on like I already am but I'd rather not be typing for days, you get my point. Just like every exotic it can be situational. Its good, don't get me wrong. Though other things can be better then it.

4 RepliesI'm cracking up a little inside because you OBVIOUSLY don't have gjallarhorn so you can't judge it by its stats dude. Have you seen the 10 second Atheon take down? Yep that was gjallarhorn. Have you ever completed 35 PoE? Skolas is almost impossible to take down without blasting him with gjallarhorns! Now don't try to make a comeback like (oH bUt I liKe the huNger too bEcause iT's TotalLy equaLly poWerful aNd is a legeNdary! NO, the hunger isn't even CLOSE to gjallarhorns capabilities!
drops the mic
I got it yesterday i thought this way before but when u get oh it's great
-
Its a reason why its the most sought after weapon..Once yu get it you'll understand..Keep grinding til yu get it & you'll see why!
-
1 ReplyMaybe you should try it out your self.....if you even have one
-
4 RepliesThe Gjallahorn is so great because it causes idiots like you to argue a point that isn't arguable. If you tell me that you don't know why the Gjallahorn is so great when yet there are videos of it taking down every boss in the game faster than any other weapon, then you sir are stupid. Don't get me wrong it's not my favorite launcher, but it is without a doubt the best. And if you get sore because you can't get into a game without one, then that's not my nor anyone's problem. Just yours.

It does absolutely incredible damage.
-
Everything.
-
What sets it part is the wolfpack rounds. That almost makes it almost 2 shots in one. And if you use it on a mob it takes them out wipes anyone just outside the blast radius.
-
I have 3. Lol. 365 gallys. Whats so special. Well if you get one you will find out.

For it is written that whom so ever blasphemously bites their thumb at Gjally of The Horn shall live in darkness and never know the warm protective embrace of our master's round pack of wolves. May his mercy and love shine down upon you in forgiveness of your sins someday. Until then... Place your tears here... \ / \____/

Last night I realized I had to do the 32 POE on my hunter as I had completely overlooked it. When we got to Rockets mcDickface Jr the three of us whipped out ole Gally & melted him with 18 rockets. We never even made it out of the air lock doorway, the Ads didn't fire a shot. His shields never even had a chance to change. That is the the raw power of Gjallarhorn.

op is lost

1 ReplyUnfortunately, I have to admit it really is just that good. Truth, DB, and HoC are good, but the Wolfpack Rounds put it over the top. You effectively get two rockets for the price of one.
-
4 RepliesThe homing missiles is unique to Gjallarhorn. It carries the esteem it does because of the sheer amount of damage it puts out. It can two-shot Crota's shields, it can melt everything faster than any other weapon.

the rocket hits its target then release 3 smaller sparks which also track its target and causes almost the same damage as the rocket itself, its like shooting 2-3 rockets at onces. also if the rocket kills its target the the sparks will seek out near by enemies and kill them.

2 RepliesEdited by Trident-SMB: 5/26/2015 2:27:49 PMErm... It 'just' tracks & breaks up into projectiles that aren't unique to the Horn!?! Rehab for Guardian crack heads is Wednesday & Thursday evening... All welcome! Gods damn it man... The Horn has Wolfpack rounds, not some cluster -blam!- that makes a bit of noise and slightly aggravates the surrounding undergrowth... Wolfpack devastates targets... and others around it!
-
Helped our team last night in PoE when we couldnt do a hive fight with arc burn. All switched to gallys, cleared house.
-
It lets the "haves" think they are snowflakes. And, the "have-nots" want to be snowflakes. Society....you can keep it. (lol)
-
What's special about it is I have gotten so many that each one I get becomes a shiny new exotic shard while so many others are crying into their pillow at night because they can't even get one.
-
4 RepliesBecause it doesn't matter what burn it is, it's just Ghallallburn
-
Wolfpack rounds are unique to it and they are greatly superior to anything else
